“I had the pleasure of embarking on a 8-day tour of Romania with this local travel specialist earlier this year. My husband and I were thrilled to explore the charming regions of Transylvania and Maramures and indulge in the expertise of the team. From start to finish, our tour was an exceptional experience that exceeded our expectations. Maramures is a region in Romania that is known for its stunning natural beauty and unique culture. The highlight of our tour was the traditional wooden churches that dot the countryside. These UNESCO World Heritage Sites are an incredible sight to behold, with their intricate carvings and vibrant paintings. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the history and significance of these churches, and we were left in awe of their beauty. Another unforgettable experience was visiting the Merry Cemetery in the town of Sapanta. This vibrant cemetery is unlike any other in the world, with colorful tombstones that tell the stories of the deceased in a humorous and lighthearted way. Our guide shared with us the fascinating history and traditions behind this unique cemetery, and we were left with a deep appreciation for the customs and culture of Maramures. Throughout our tour, we also had the opportunity to immerse ourselves in local experiences. “We booked a private 8 day tour of Romania with this travel operator and they did a fabulous job of making sure we had the best time ever!! They lined us up with a tour guide named Laurentiu. He was fantastic!!! He was extremely knowledgable of all the places we visited throughout Romania. It was all natural for him and it was not scripted and he knew the history of each sight. He was very laid back and was never in a rush. He had a great personality and a good sense of humor. He made our entire trip fun and interesting. He took us to all of the main sights on our itinerary, as well as some off the beaten path sights. We got a true understanding and feeling of what life in Romania is all about. The hotels they booked us in were all conveniently located to all of the main attractions and were all unique boutique type hotels. Lauentui knew where all the great restaurants were along the way and we ate like kings and the food was excellent. Romania is a vast and beautiful country. Everything ran smooth and was perfect. We had the best time anyone could ever ask for. We would highly recommend this company for all your travel needs throughout Romania.”
