“Loved the self-drive tour, gave us the ability to stay on our own schedule. Locations were great with lots to explore in each town as well as along the drive. Ronda and Seville were our favorite! We had the ability to stop while on the road to wine and olive oil taste too, as well as explore Castillo de Almodovar, a beautifully restored castle near Seville where they shot several scenes of Game of Thrones. Location of hotels were good too, easy to get to so you didn't have to drive through some of those difficult narrow one way streets. Only issue was having to pay for parking at some of the hotels, this should have been part of the package. Other than that, it was a great tour!”

“The organizers of our trip must’ve known Spain very well because they chose very interesting cities to visit and also knew the best tours to take in each city. The itinerary was very well organized and properly balanced. And it was a pleasant surprise to be able to stay in each of the carefully chosen hotels in the various cities on the tour. Those hotels had excellent accommodations as well as European buffet breakfasts and usually also a nice restaurant and lounge to relax in in the evenings. At first I was concerned about how well we would be able to use the Spanish railroad system to go from city to city. But it was actually quite easy And I forgot how relaxing taking the train can be. It is much quieter than an airplane and it was always enjoyable to look at at the Spanish countryside rather than white knuckling ones way driving along unfamiliar roads. Basically it was very simple to order a taxi cab to get to the train station . Most of all in each of these wonderful cities we had a carefully chosen tour by a local tour agency that had been pre-scheduled as part of the overall travel package. All of the people we met were very nice and we made some good acquaintances along the way. I believe this is probably an excellent way to discover other countries and even to revisit them if one is not been back to Europe for a while.”
Lovely cycle through Andalucia

“Fairly flat cycle ride of approximately 40 miles/day on mainly quiet roads or off road on the Via Verde, though there was some cycling on busy main roads. We had non stop sunshine and temperatures in mid 30s for our trip in late September, but felt that some of the Via Verde route would be almost impossible if it was wet. There were some good hills to ascend most days.”

Seville - Tour Highlights and Travel Tips

Seville is a delightful mix of Moorish and Catholic influences, an architectural baroque bonanza that will make any visit to Seville feel like a journey to the past. If you decide to spend your holidays in Seville, be prepared to be blown away by its mesmerizing character, embodied in its diverse mix of cultural heritage, mouthwatering cuisine and energetic nightlife scene.

Tour Highlights

  • The wonderfully ornate Cathedral of Seville is the city’s most famous landmark; it’s also one of the largest cathedrals in the world.
  • La Giralda is the name of the cathedral’s stunning 104-meter- tall bell tower. Climb all the way to the top and you will get a breath-taking panorama of central Seville.
  • Alcázar de Seville is one of the most gorgeous and well-known examples of Moorish architecture. This 14 th century royal palace features many beautiful gardens, ponds, courtyards and rooms, including one where Christopher Columbus first planned his trip to the New World.
  • For a more modern take on Seville, head over to the Metropol Parasol at Plaza de la Encarnación. As one of the largest timber structures in the world, whose construction was completed in 2011, it is slowly becoming one of Seville’s most prominent urban landmarks.

Travel Tips

  • If you plan on cramming in a lot of sightseeing in your visit, it might be a good idea to purchase the Sevilla Card, which will allow you a free entrance to many museums and monuments, as well as an unlimited use of public transport services.
  • Plan your Seville journey in spring and you will get a chance to experience the colorful Feria, a six-day festival that usually takes place two weeks after the Easter Holy Week. This is a perfect opportunity to try local delicacies and see traditional Sevillano dress and flamenco dancing.
  • If you enjoy football, make sure to catch a home game of Sevilla Football Club, Spain’s oldest football club.
