“A very good last minute booking. The WHW was on our list of to dos and it did not disappoint. Inveroran and Kingshouse Hotels were high points as was Kip in the Kirk. Weather was kind (ish), and the irking/scenery legend. I would normally sort this sort of trip myself but in the days of Covid we wanted the security to cover us if there was some sort of lockdown issue etc.”

Travel tips for Scotland Explorer Tour

  • Time outdoorsy adventure holiday in Scotland during the warmer months, as the country gets pretty frigid in winter.
  • Pack an umbrella because Scotland is a famously wet country with a sky-high average annual rainfall. This is not the place to go and work on your tan.
  • Book your accommodation and tickets well in advance for the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. This world-famous August event sees visitor numbers explode.
  • Do not fly home without trying hearty culinary highlights like haggis, Cullen skink, Scotch pie, neeps and tatties. The Highland whisky is equally divine.
