- Alhambra, the most famous landmark of Granada, is an awe-inspiring 13th Century fortress perched on top of a hill east of the city center. Throughout the history, this vast complex served as a royal court of both Muslim and Spanish kings.

Travel Tips
- The Sierra Nevada mountains lie to the south of the city and are an ideal getaway destination for skiing (in the winter) or hiking and mountain biking, when the temperatures are warmer.
- Sacromonte, Granada’s Roma neighborhood, is known for its bohemian, artistic character. If you are looking to catch a spontaneous flamenco performance in the middle of the street, this lively district is your best bet.
- If you are visiting Granada during scorching summer months and find yourself in dire need of refreshment, make sure to try tinto de verano, a mixture of red wine and gaseosa, a mild-flavored lemonade.
