A Team That Goes Above and Beyond!
5 - Excellent
  • Eric
“This tour provider hits it out of the park on the big wins: safety, logistics, and expertise. Their guides conducted twice daily health checks, measuring blood oxygen to ensure we were acclimating appropriately and they had medication ready to cover any malady. On summit day they carried oxygen as a safety measure that I found necessary after experiencing altitude sickness and the team even provided it to another suffering climber whose guides were not carrying oxygen. Not all guide services have these safety measures! The logistics flow was impressive from the get-go with airport and hotel shuttles. The camp logistics on-mountain was even more so. We’d depart camp after breakfast, they’d have tea and snacks set up along the trail, and we’d arrive at lunch to find the mess tent already set up with lunch ready, just to find it and our sleeping tents set up again at the end of the hike with tea and popcorn waiting and dinner shortly to follow. The consideration that the Porter team put into our comfort was overwhelming. The expertise of the team was unquestionable. The company clearly takes hiring very seriously and recruits knowledgeable guides. Professionals across the board whom we greatly trusted. With the big wins checked off in style, the company goes above and beyond with personal touches that make the trip truly memorable. I think the most memorable for us was the tradition and ceremony that the team brought to the experience - celebratory group singing and dancing especially, even cakes and champagne! Then small things like hot water bottles to keep sleeping bags warm really made us feel well cared for.”

“"My safari experience was beyond anything I could have imagined. It was a perfect blend of adventure, wildlife, and cultural immersion. If you ever have the opportunity to go on a safari, I highly recommend this local tour operator. They will offer you an experience that will leave you with memories to last a lifetime, worth every penny you pay. "”
Unforgettable trip

“"From the moment I contacted the agency, the tour agency's staff demonstrated a high level of professionalism and attentiveness. They promptly responded to my inquiries, providing detailed information and addressing any concerns I had. Throughout the Kilimanjaro trek, their support staff, including porters and cooks, was incredibly hardworking, ensuring that our needs were met and that we had comfortable accommodations and nourishing meals. The level of teamwork and dedication displayed by the entire staff was truly remarkable. The agency's commitment to providing top-notch equipment and logistics was evident throughout the trek. From quality camping gear to delicious meals prepared at high altitudes, they left no stone unturned in ensuring our comfort and well-being. The campsite setups were well-organized, and the availability of essential amenities, such as clean water and sanitary facilities, added to the overall positive experience. "”

East Africa — Tour Highlights and Travel Tips

Think of safari, and it’s East Africa’s landscapes that come to mind — one of the last places to catch the Big Five. Look beyond the plains in a trip to East Africa and you’ll also discover the Great Rift Valley’s many other wonders such as Lake Victoria, Kenya’s pristine beaches, and the Zanzibar islands among them.

Tour Highlights

  • Jump into a 4x4 for that timeless safari experience in Tsavo East, Amboseli, or Ngorongoro - just three of a whole host of protected spaces from which to take home unforgettable memories of elephants, rhinos, and lions in their natural environment
  • Pull on your hiking boots and scale the heady heights of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest mountain at 5,895 meters.
  • Experience the grandeur of Victoria Falls – ‘the Smoke that Thunders’ – up close, from the comfort of a viewing platform, or by rafting the bubbling white water of Zambezi Gorge
  • Hit the idyllic beaches of Kenya or Zanzibar and soak up the rays on pristine sands, splash about in the warm shallows, or delve beneath the waves for a spot of world-class scuba diving
  • Delve into the forests of Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda for that once in a lifetime encounter with gorillas in the mist, coming eye to eye with our closest living relatives as their family groups relax in the shade of the lush vegetation
  • Witness one of the world’s largest animal migrations, as more than two million wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle cross the plains of the Masai Mara and Serengeti in search of fresh grass.

Travel Tips

  • The best time to visit East Africa is generally considered to be from July to November, during the region’s long dry season. Temperatures are mild, and July sees the start of the wildebeest migration, although this time is also peak period, with accommodation booking up quickly.
  • East Africa is incredibly safe as a destination, with tour companies and locals alike going out of their way to make visitors feel welcome. Follow standard practices, such as not leaving valuables unattended, and you won’t have any problems.
  • Do like the locals, and wear light weave and light color natural fabrics such as cotton, rather than tight-fitting man-made materials, to stay cool in the sun. Make sure you’ve also packed a sun hat.
  • Don’t worry if you don’t run to schedule. Time is a little more fluid in East Africa than in the west, however, this doesn’t mean you’ll have to miss out on any activities or experiences, with additional time built in for just this eventuality!
