Is this trip right for you
  • Some of Switzerland’s best scenery is found on walks, which can be quite steep and long. While this trip itself doesn't require a high level of fitness, it’s essential to be at least moderately fit if you want to take part in all activities. During the trip, you have the option to hike the trails in the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau region.
  • The primary means of transportation on this trip is by train. Swiss trains are a fast (and punctual) way to cross long distances, allowing you to avoid traffic jams and arrive right into the city centre. They are comfortable and all have toilets, however, can sometimes be quite busy. You may need to make exchanges in between to reach your destination. Please note that you'll have to carry your own luggage on and off the train, so make sure it doesn’t exceed our weight and size recommendations. You can find specifics under ‘Packing’ in the ‘Essential Trip Information’ section.
  • Hotels in Europe often don't have double beds, but rather two single beds that can be pushed together.
Vaccination Policy for departures before 31st December 2022
  • Proof of vaccination against COVID-19 is mandatory for all travellers departing prior to 31st December 2022. Individuals who cannot be vaccinated due to medical reasons may apply for exemptions. Medical certificates provided by medical professionals will be required to apply for such exemptions which will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
  • Children aged 17 years and under are exempt. However, to be eligible for travel, they must present one of the following: a negative COVID-19 test, proof of recovery, or proof of full vaccination.
Vaccination Policy for departures after 1st January 2023
  • Proof of vaccination against COVID-19 is no longer mandatory on departures after 1st January 2023. Nonetheless, all travellers are strongly advised to be vaccinated as a safety measure to protect themselves and others on the tour. This policy excludes all Polar trips and select adventure cruises, where testing and vaccination are required.
  • Also, proof of vaccination may still be required at specific entry points or by the airlines. Therefore, please make sure to check all the travel requirements carefully before travelling.
For Solo Travelers
  • This tour offers a twin share option where solo travellers will be paired with other similar travellers of the same gender in a room. If such twin share options are fully booked/unavailable for particular dates, single rooms would be the only option for which supplement charges.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS Find answers to the most frequently asked questions about this tour.
  • How many days are enough for Europe?

You can spend a couple of months exploring Europe and still feel like you have not seen everything. Generally speaking, a two-week Europe trip should be just enough if you are looking to cover its major highlights. However, if you want a comprehensive travel experience within this duration, it is better that you focus on a region or a few countries rather than traveling all over the continent.

Choose a single country or schedule your trip around a handful of cities in different countries. While larger European cities may require three to four days to explore, you can get around smaller destinations in a day or two. Planning your trip around a particular region will cut down your travel time and save your time in transit.

  • What is the best month to travel to Switzerland?

April and May as well as September and October are the best months to visit Switzerland. These months are just outside the peak seasons, but the weather is still pleasant and mild.

  • What is the best way to tour Switzerland?

The best way to tour Switzerland is by train. The country has a vastly connected railway system that is fast and reliable and reasonably priced. Most train routes are spectacularly scenic and can be sightseeing tours in their own right.

  • How many do I need in Switzerland?

We recommend spending 7 days in Switzerland. The country is fairly small and you can still see and do a lot if you only have a few days. If you want to do lengthier hikes you will want to spend upwards of 10 days in Switzerland. Check out our guide on how many days to spend in Switzerland for more information.

  • How much does a Switzerland tour cost?

A seven-day tour of a majority of the Swiss highlights costs around USD 1,100. For a longer 10-day tour, you will need around USD 4,000.
