Amazing tour company and amazing guide
5 - Excellent
  • Danny & Leonie
“We were very pleased with the professional service we received, from booking our tour to excellent communication prior to the tour. We would certainly use your services again if we to return to China. Our tour guide Barry was excellent in his language skills, his knowledge of the tourism sites we visited and his willingness to assist us with questions, meal suggestions, and his flexibility. Barry was always polite, efficient and punctual.”
Fantastic 11 Day tour of Beijing, Xi'an, Zhangjiajie and Shanghai
5 - Excellent
  • David Sheppard
“The local travel specialist provided an excellent tour and itinerary well-coordinated with very good accommodation and meals. The Small group tour was exactly that with less than 12 people in each city, and in Zhangjiajie national park (where avatar was filmed) my wife and I had a private tour with a young guide Ru. The guides in each city were excellent with good knowledge of their city and sights who all went out of their way to help and assist. In Beijing, our guide was Maggie. She had great knowledge of Beijing and was very helpful. In Xi'an, our guide was Lily who was experienced and very knowledgeable on the amazing history of Xi'an and the terracotta army. In Shanghai, our guide was Ocean. He was absolutely fantastic, enthusiastic and extremely good communicator who really knew his stuff.”

“It was a very nice full day trip to visit all the highlights such as the famous Avatar Mountain in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and also experience one of the longest Glass Bridge. And our tour guide Andy was wonderful, he helped us with all our needs.”

Zhangjiajie — Tour Highlights and Travel Tips

Zhangjiajie Tour Highlights

  • Stare into the abyss from the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge. Whether frightening or thrilling, walking this bridge certainly is one of the most spectacular ventures you’ll experience during your trip to Zhangjiajie.
  • Climb to the top of a gigantic karst pillar in Bailong Elevator, the highest outdoor elevator in the world. Make sure to be next to the window for excellent views of the surreal scenery.
  • Take a walk along streams and forests on the Golden Whip Brook for a more secluded adventure in this park.
  • Unwind and escape the crowds with a boat ride on the Xianren stream. Stop for a picnic or a swim, and absorb the striking setting you’re in.
  • Stroll around the ancient city of Phoenix, where wooden houses, tall pagodas and cobbled streets give you a glimpse of ancient China.
  • Admire the grand halls and rock pillars in the Yellow Dragon Cave during your Zhangjiajie tour. This illuminated cave has halls with a height of up to 140 meters.

Zhangjiajie Travel Tips

  • Purchase decent hiking shoes before your vacation to Zhangjiajie as most of your tour will include long hikes.
  • Since there are very few restaurants inside Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, make sure to pack snacks.
  • During weekdays, Zhangjiajie still receives many visitors, but crowds are noticeably thinner than on the weekend.
  • The entrance ticket to the national park is valid for 4 days. Visit the park for several days to take advantage of the ticket and explore more areas.
  • Shuttle buses connect several locations within the park, like the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge and the Bailong Elevator. The rides on these park buses are included in the entrance fee.
