Start in Vienna and end in Budapest, the "Hungarian Rhapsody" trip is a self-guided bicycle trip that takes 8 days. You will visit Esztergom, Komarno, Kelemantia and 8 other destinations in 4 different countries. "Hungarian Rhapsody" is a private trip which will include accommodation, transport, meals and others. Journey by bike from Vienna via Bratislava to Budapest along the scenic Danube Cycle Path. Wind your way from the elegant city of Vienna along the Danube Cycle Path. Crossing the Austria - Slovak border the cycle route passes vineyards on the slopes of the Little Carpathian Mountains into the capital, Bratislava. Using quiet country roads this itinerary continues into Hungary where you will pedal through numerous delightful towns. Explore the Baroque city of Györ and visit the unusual artist village of Szentendre and its outlying island before heading to Budapest.

  • Day 2 : Cycle along the Danube to Bad Deutsch Altenburg (42km/26mi)
  • Day 3 : Continue to Bratislava (26km/16mi)
  • Day 4 : Cycle via the lowlands of Szigetköz to Györ (82km/51mi) or shorten with train
  • Day 5 : Stroll through the national stud of Babolna, cycle to Komarno/surrounds (57km/35.6mi)
  • Day 6 : Cycle through quaint villages to Esztergom and the Danube Bend (52km/32.5mi)
  • Day 7 : Cycle the Danube Bend, continue by boat or train to Budapest (62km/38.5mi)
  • Day 8 : Trip concludes

  • 7 nights in 3-4 star inns and hotels (4 star in Vienna, Bratislava & Budapest) with ensuite facilities on a twin share basis (option to upgrade to Category A, 4 star hotels - surcharge applies)

This was an extraordinary holiday. You do not have to be a diehard cyclist as the bikes are very comfortable.

The rivers was so inviting for a swim, so often, it was hard to keep pedaling forward. This for us was such a grand adventure of discovery, seeing the beauty and historical magnificence of Eastern Europe - surprised.

CANCELLATION

No additional cancellation fees apply for this Hungarian Rhapsody tour. You can cancel the tour up to 72 days prior departure and avoid paying the full amount, but your deposit paid is non-refundable. No refund applies for cancellations within 71 days of departure.

Payment

For any tour departures within 07 June 2024, full payment is required. For tours that depart later than 07 June 2024, a deposit of 189 USD is required to confirm the tour, and the remaining balance will be charged 71 days before trip departure.

Travel Insurance

Hungarian Rhapsody tour requires that you have adequate and valid travel insurance covering medical and personal accidents, including repatriation costs and emergency evacuation. World Nomads offers travel insurance for independent travelers and intrepid families.

Visa

For this Hungarian Rhapsody tour getting the required visa(s) is the responsibility for each individual traveller, as visa requirements vary depending on your nationality.
