The trip was a tale of two halves with an active outdoor Kyrgystan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan followed by a more urban experience in Uzbekistan. The guide added value in the first two countries. By Uzbekistan, a guide was unnecessary.”

He was full of information, gave us detailed explanations of the sights we were visiting (even quizzed us on them), constantly put events in perspective with respect to the local culture, and was a great story teller. “The trip was amazing! Exploring 4 of the Stan countries was so much fun and different than other trips! We went to heights more than 2500 m above sea level, and others at more than 1500 m. Malika our CEO was so energetic and amazing as well. She's so skilled and was able to encourage us to push through and actively participate throughout the journey. We lived in a variety of stays, but the good thing once we're done with a guesthouse/home stay it's usually followed by a nice hotel stay where we can unwind and do our laundry and prepare for the next trip”
