Fast paced. Very enjoyable tour group. The tour director was very good interacting with the tour group. Felt safe with the tour driver.
Well organized. Great travel director. Enjoyed the pace.
It is a great itinerary. A lot is packed into 6 days but the things we saw were wonderful! I would recommend adding an extra day and stopping somewhere between Lucerne and Paris. That was way too long a day of bus riding.
This was a great 'taster' tour - our first. We enjoyed it all and realised how much time we waste working things out ourselves. So we now want to experience some of Trafalgar's regional tours and have every confidence the tour directors will have taken care of all the details. This includes my gf meals! Never thought I would say this but a little longer free time will be nice, on a less compact tour, to visit some places that have been recommended by friends.
It was a full on experience.Starting off with breakfast each morning, then off on our journey into Germany, with a cruise in the Rhineland. From there into Switzerland with a meal including Swiss fondue.Exploring Lucerne, then off to magical Paris.our travel director was Excellent with a wealth of knowledge from the past and future.I would thoroughly recommend this short full of ancient history tour to everyone
This was a good trip, I would recommend coming to Amsterdam a day or two before the trip, and staying in Paris a day or two after. Otherwise it was a good experience to see four Countries but still not feel hurried. For me, I visited family in the Netherlands first, and then had to fit ‘something’ into my Australian School holidays, and this trip worked out perfectly!
Pros: Tour director excellent Accommodations excellent Food good Cons: Forget Heidelburg ....... time way too short Tour too large............bus too tight Rotating seating not efficient..............I suggest moving 4 seats not 3 each day (except for one day, I spent whole trip behind back door)
The itinerary was great were it presented a taste of the local scenery, and life of the inhabitants, away from the main tourist attractions. It was a nice experience. Our guide (Graham), was very knowledgeable on the local history, which was an added plus.
gave us the best experience he could have. Paris was not my favorite only because I got sick on the trip. We had so many magical experiences. Thank you to the driver .He handled the coach wonderfully and many spots had hairpin turns. The extra tour up the mountain in Laverne is well worth it , I encourage everyone to do this, the river cruises were great and the German castles along the river banks were stunning.
Was very busy, but saw a lot in a short window of time. Tour Guide was excellent, knowledgeable and attentive to everyone.
This is a fast paced trip with some longer travel days but perfect if you want to see a lot of Europe in a short time. Gives you a taste of different countries without spending a lot of time in each area. Would have liked a bit more time in Germany but absolutely loved the time in Lucerne!
Very interesting, informative and funny tour guide
We had a fantastic "European Highlights" tour!!! Everything went smoothly from beginning to end. The hotels were great! The food in all four countries was absolutely delicious! Our tour director was extremely well organized and very knowledgeable! Our bus driver (sp?) was an excellent driver! There were 47 ppl on our tour. I'd say half were from Australia, about 10 Americans, some from UK and 4 from New Zealand and 4 from Canada, counting my husband and I.We met some really nice people and even exchanged a few phone numbers! All the activities were fun! And of the 6 optional tours offered, we did 6 of them. We were happy there was a washroom on the bus for emergencies. This is Very important. Some ppl used it, but not very many, because the driver stopped every 2 or 3 hours. We had put the Uber App on our phone and that worked out really well. It cost us 41 Euros to get to our hotel from the airport. We were talking to a couple who took a taxi and they paid over 80 Euros!! Uber is definitely the way to go. You know up front what you're paying. You can track them on your phone. We paid them through PayPal, but you also do a credit card. All in all we really enjoyed this particular tour. Never had a hitch or a glitch! I really like the direct flights to Europe. I don't think I'd go any other way, in the future. This was our third Trafalgar Tour! Thanks so much, and CANADA
Fast paced, which was well described online. Well planned, saw a lot in short time. We enjoyed our tour director. She was so knowledgeable, organized, and fun.
Very comprehensive detailed trip with super, excellent tour director and bus driver. So many positives. Be prepared for an intense, on—the-go daily ritual that encompasses so much.
THe drive from Lucerne was way too long. THe Heidelberg hotel was too close to the railway tracks. You could hear the train announcements.
The was overall good. It should be considered to include The itenary should include a visit to the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre. The farewell dinner was appreciated but a option of a choice sjojlx be considered
We were able to see and do a lot all because of ! She knew the tour front and back. She kept us well informed on what will be happening and what to expect. Not even a rainstorm could throw her off her game. She adjusted the schedule to keep us safe and dry. Our coach driver was absolutely amazing! We never had to lug our luggage to or from our hotel room. We placed our bags outside our room before breakfast, and they were in our room at the next hotel later that day. We will definitely use Trafalgar for our next land tour.
The itinerary gave us a true taste of Europe. Our tour guide, was absolutely exceptional!! She made everything flow so smoothly. She is a gem :>)!!
Was a wonderful tour I enjoy it very much and was very informative about the tour and kept us on schedule No problems at all Thank you so much !
It was a well planned itinerary chuck full of sightseeing attractions in 4 countries!! I loved it and feel I got to see the most popular venues in these countries.
I wish more of the extra excursions whould have been included in the price since the trip was already pretty pricey. The hotels were not very clean on the trip, Hair in beds and on floors in most and even 1 hotel had poop in the toliet when we arrived (Amsterdam one) We had to pay extra for a ride to airport at end of trip due to time of flight so if its included you should offer more than 1 time to go to airport
It was a good sampling of different European countries. , the tour guide, was informative, engaging, personable, extremely effective whenever a need arose. The tour wouldn’t be the same without him.
A very intense one, great places to visit, a bit too fast paced. Maybe an extra day in Amsterdam would be beneficial.
The hotels in Amsterdam and Paris are to far from the city center. Free time is limited and spending 40 minutes each was is counter productive.
i thought it was very well planned and organized . this was my first guided tour trip. i think everything went smoothly. the tour guide was great. he knew a lot of history about the places we went to. i would like to do another tour with Trafalgar and hope to bring more family members next time. i sent them daily pictures and updates of my trip. everyone thoroughly enjoyed it from a distance. i know they all wished they were on the trip too.
I think the trip is designed to have an overview, instead of in depth, but it is as refreshing to see the places I wouldnt have gone alone by myself like the dinner cruise in Amsterdam, the local vineyard dinner, and the Cabaret Performance at Paris. So for that I sincerely appreciate. I would have preferred less shopping time, but more experiences to be included
Group travel is the way to go! Great itinerary. Nicely paced. Comfortable transit and lodging. Exceptional tour director () and bus driver (). Wonderful options for additional experiences.
It was the perfect way to get a feel for future European holidays. The highlight for us was the other travelers that we met on the tour. , our guide was the perfect host. Very helpful with a hint of humour tha the britisch are famous for.
This was a short tour but worth every penny. Had great experiences and once again a great tour director with a lot of knowledge of history who made everything fun. An accommodating driver again just a great experience. Highly recommend using Trafalgar.
Disappointing Experience with Trafalgar Without purchasing the optional experiences, the trip felt incomplete and underwhelming. Be prepared to spend an additional $3,000–$5,000 on top of the package cost to truly enjoy what’s offered. Additionally, the vegetarian food options were very poor. There were no alternatives or flexibility in meals, no coupons or options to order from a broader menu. You’re limited to whatever vegetarian choices are provided, and unfortunately, those options were consistently unsatisfying. Would not recommend for vegetarians or travelers expecting an all-inclusive experience at the package price.
The itinerary was very well organized. However, I would have liked less time on the water and more time walking around historic landmarks. Also, although the cabaret in Paris was quite entertaining. I didn't expect ****** and could have done without it.
The meeting point in the airport was confusing. Should meet where all the other tours meet right off of the baggage terminal. Be prepared to figure out your first day on your own before meeting with group early evening. Uber is very easy to use. The canal cruise was ok. Germany - the cuckoo clock stop is basically a tourist trap. Was hoping for a factory or artisan tour but got a 3 min explanation of how the clock works inside the gift shop. Spent 1 hour in Heidelberg. The wine vineyard was another stop where we were ushered directly into a basement and given a lecture on how wine was made. No tour of facilities or fields. Ate. And then pushed into a gift shop. The wine was good but literally the least impressive vineyard tour (because there was no actual tour) I had ever been on. Switzerland - Trafalgar advertised a tour of chocolate making. This did not happen. The tour director gave us 3 pieces of chocolate as we boarded the bus. That was it. The folklore dinner was hokey and not in a good way. Heads up the menu is veal only. If you want to spend your evening in Switzerland watching other people on tours get up and sing this is for you, if not I strongly suggest doing the evening on your own. Switzerland is beautiful! The Mt. Pilatus trip was the first worthwhile part of this tour. The farm excursion was also enjoyable. France- when I booked the trip Versailles was part of the package. A month or so later it was removed. Many people on our trip including myself scheduled extra days and tours to see Versailles. One day into this tour we are told Versailles is back on the options. People had already spent money on other ways to see Versailles. The communication from Trafalger regarding Versailles was terrible. People emailed and called all with different answers. Everyone was surprised it was added back in last minute. Paris hotel was terrible. No beverages after 11 - no vending machine. Inadequate bedding 2 nights in a row despite informing the tour director. Two nights no sheet or duvet, ridiculous. Unsafe neighborhood. Highly recommend Uber. My fellow tourists were delightful and the bus did get us where we were supposed to go. Not impressed with the tour director. Felt deceptive advertising from Trafalgar on the vineyard, chocolate experience and cuckoo clock tour. Would do future trips independently of a tour.
Wonderful itinerary. Our tour director was amazing, very knowledgeable, and able to provide us great suggestions for restaurants and excursions. Loved all of the places we visited but Lucerne was absolutely our favourite. So beautiful!!!
We did the European Highlights in the first week of July, Very Well Organized and our Travel Director was just Superb! The itinerary might seem to be a little packed, but it’s actually perfect —we get to hit all the main spots and must-sees, though we get just a day at the first two countries. Honestly, the tour is super well put together and ideal for those who have less time in hand and are on a budget but wants to cover a few spots in Europe. from Wonder Makers Travel in the US helped us in every bit of our travel planning and purchase from Trafalgar. She is wonderful! Special shout out to our tour director and our chauffeur who are the best with whom we have ever travelled. made sure that each and every person in the group was comfortable and always well taken care of, irrespective of their age and country/ethnicity. He is very knowledgeable, always energetic, and always explained everything and we got the best history lessons ever which made the tours even more interesting! Our tour guide in Paris was amazing as well. The additional/ optional tours were amazing, and our favorite country was Switzerland. This tour was very well organized; we were stress free! We get to see and experience all the highlights as listed in the tour and so many wonderful additional surprises as well! The bus journey was very comfortable though we were skeptical about it while booking the tour. Once we met our tour director at the airport on the first day of purr tour, we just had to follow the directions, and we got a hassle-free experience. Our room keys are ready all the time, luggage need to be left outside the room at the said times, and we do not have to carry them once we entrust it to them on day one. Hotels are pretty nice, good food, great dinners and overall AMAZING experience. Can't wait to book our next family trip with Trafalgar!
was my tour director and he was absolutely perfect. We were well taken care of and every detail was handled with clockwork precision!!!! I'm already planning my next Tour and pray and hope that is my Tour director again. Well done... I didn't want to come home!!!! See you soon, Euro hop July 11, 2025
This was an excellent arrangement of the highlights of Europe which was managed by out tour guide extraordinare . He made the transitions from one highlight to the next and from one country to the next so seamless and enjoyable. He was a wealth of knowledge. I had a fabulous and unforgettable experience Thanks Trafalgar
I truly enjoyed the whole trip. The optional excursions were very good. The only bad spot was when I was leaving. I was staying in Paris. I was told just get a cab on your own. On other tours transportation was arranged ahead of time for me. Also I was woke up by a hotel employee before 7am telling me I needed to leave. Check out was noon.
very organized and attentive tourguide.
I was in our own family coach tour business myself and have a somewhat critical eye for the skill and talent required of drivers and tour directors. is a tremendously skillful and personable driver and is an incredibly talented tour director whose knowledge, way of delivery and ability to relate to all the passengers is superb. Perhaps the best way to express our admiration is to say that I would hire them both in a heartbeat!!
was an amazing tour director, highly recommend.
Fantastic:)
Hotel in Heidelberg was bad. No ac in room, room on top of railway station. All night could not sleep with noise of trains and train announcements. Hotel receptionist was uncooperative to arrange someone to look at the issues.many guests in tour experienced same issue. 2. There should be late start of days activities as it's a holiday. 3. Tour director was good. 4. During summer time there should be some provision of cold water in bus only, may be charged for same 5. In Switzerland literary include some train ride also 6. Overall a good tour
It is excellent
Quick snapshot of countries., great host and the itenary was fantastic giving us opportunities to see places we wouldn’t see by our selves.
Be prepared to be dropped off in a city for a short directed tour and then find your own way back to the hotel either by walking 2+ miles or by other means of transportation, i.e. taxi, train, bus,Uber due to tour bus needing to be elsewhere or driver had exceeded driving time.
We thoroughly enjoyed the experience, although it was somewhat fast-paced at times. We traveled extensively on the coach and witnessed some remarkable sights, such as the Rhine Falls and the Rhine Cruise. Our only complaint pertains to the Paris segment, where the coach merely passed by the Arc De Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower without stopping to allow us to disembark and explore these landmarks. We were allotted only about 20 minutes to visit Notre Dame, which was inadequate for entering due to the lengthy queue.
did an excellent job as our tour guide. He was very informative, professional, and knowledgeable regarding the history of the countries and cities we visited. Our bus driver was an excellent driver and kept us on schedule in visiting four countries in seven days. This was one of our best family vacations and I attribute it to the leadership and positive attitude of and our bus driver .
The trip was well organized. Since it was my first experience in a tour, I was surprised to find the schedule so tight. I fully understand since a lot of travelling by coach is involved. I did not realize that not taking part in the optional excursions would allow us more free time, but to do what? Some suggestions as to what to explore during that time would be welcome, since the city we are visiting is unknown to us. I thought we did every outing as a group. However, I am very satisfied and happy of the experience. The Tour Director and the Driver were wonderful.
There was too much sitting on busses, getting from one city to the next. This was especially true for the Lucerne to Paris leg.
This was a very fast-paced tour! You get to see and do A LOT in a short amount of time. For us, that was perfect, as I had never been out of the country, but didn’t want to be away from home for too long. Our guides, both our director and other hired guides in individual cities, were wonderful and very knowledgeable. We had a fantastic time! The only things that I didn’t just love were the location of a couple of the hotels- not in bad parts of town or anything, just away from the charm of the city and farther out from most sightseeing places. Although those were still close to local transportation. Also, our last leg of travel was an almost 9-hour bus drive from Lucerne to Paris. We were all tired at that point, so the timing of such a long drive was a little less than ideal. But Paris was worth it!
Bern Willis, our Tour Guide, made the trip a memorable and fun experience.
Great highlight trip but it was FAST. Prepare for early mornings and late evenings.
Alot of hours driving with very little communication
Traveling as a family of four with two teenage kids, we were concerned about booking an organized tour. This was definitely the right decision and made our experience highly memorable, enjoyable, and truly stress-free! Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, highly organized, and a joy to be around. She and the program organized by Trafalgar, including many intimate opportunities to immerse ourselves in local culture and food, made this jam-packed tour of 4 countries truly special for us!
The Lucerne to Paris bus trip was too long. There should have been an excursion stop on this leg. We went through the wine region. Perfect opportunity for a wine stop. Also the location of the hotel in Paris was questionable. Not convenient to Paris iconic landmarks. It also was not convenient in Heidelberg. The train was right next to us and not close to the city center.
Very nice variety of locations to visit. A large number of destinations in the week long trip.
Included river cruises and meals were excellent!
The hotel in Germany was a total letdown. The location backing on to a commuter train station is ridiculous . It was loud with announcements going thru the night not to mention the train themselves. There was no need to be near it as we were not using the trains. Add to that, hotel staff on the front lines showing no empathy to the fact that the air conditioning was not working. Other fellow travellers were missing towels, pillows etc. we had champagne chilling on ice in our room. I called to confirm it was meant for us and were no it was a mistake and if we opened it we would be charged. was absolutely the best. The meal at the thank you dinner was so disappointing - the French onion soup was diluted ….everything was off except the dessert. Other than those two obvious big failures the rest of the trip was good. Coach driver was excellent as well as was very knowledgeable on history etc. I would appreciate a response to these failures.
Saw and experienced a lot in a short amount of time.
European Highlights was full of amazing experiences! We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our trip. and were an amazing duo! is so knowledgeable about so many cities and countries. I highly recommend this tour!
It was nice but I didn’t like the fact that versailles was taken off the package.
We very much enjoyed this tour and our tour guide Jonathan. We had issues with the hotel in Heidelberg ( no air conditioning, noisy train station outside our window) but other accommodations were fine. I would have liked a night stop between Lucerne and Paris, as this was an extremely long bus ride. We were also disappointed that the excursion to Versailles was not available. It had been listed when we booked the trip. Picture below of our favorite excursion, Countryside and Carriage rides in Engleberg, Switzerland.
An excellent itinerary, jam-packed. Memorable optional experiences, highlighted by the Cabaret in Paris. The hotel rooms in Heidelberg and Paris were excessively hot, however.
Fast pace itinerary with a lot of sights to see.
Itinerary was busy but packed a lot of fun activities and interesting/spectacular destinations. Our Tour Guide was extremely knowledgeable, experienced, helpful and funny.
I was disappointed with our hotel in Germany. The room is very hot, we (me and my fellow travellers )complained to the receptionist but there was no action done. I was also disappointed with our hotel in Paris. The door in my room can be shut but cannot be locked from the inside and the outside. When I arrived at the hotel after our cabaret & dinner show, the door in my room was widely opened. My luggage was still there, nothing was lost but it was unacceptable. I complained to the receptionist and she told me there was no maintenance staff at night and they would repair my door the next morning. When I arrived at the hotel in the evening, the door in my room was not repaired. I complained again to our travel director and he spoke to the receptionist. The receptionist went to my room and checked the door. She was not able to lock it from the inside and outside. And I also requested if she could lower the temperature in my room from 20degrees C to 16 degrees C, she promised to do so (because the temperature control is in the reception desk. She apologized for the defective door lock but she told me she cannot do anything. She went back to the reception desk but did not lower the temperature in my room. I was very disappointed especially because I paid the single supplement and expected a better quality hotel.
It’s condensed, but we saw four cities in one week. Amsterdam- lovely canal cruise. Food was very good. Germany- river cruise very nice. Be My Guest visit with vineyard owner, very interesting, he was personable. Lucerne- riding up a mountain in a cable car and then down in a cog- wheel train was The Best experience! And then a lake cruise, very enjoyable. Paris- Is an event. Great drive around the famous sights, entry to Notre Dame Cathedral- amazing. Evening cruise on the Seine, great.Except the sound system very poor, couldn’t hear anything . Sarah, out Tour Director was great, with her British dry humour.
It's a heck of a lot of travelling, but a good way to get a snippet of Europe. A bit of pressure to do extra activities, would have been nice to have a bit more free time. I wouldnt probably travel this way again.
It was an excellent trip very busy but allowed us to see the main site attractions of the regions we travelled through. We opted to add all the options to the trip and that was for sure a great choice. Our travel director was great and ensure we had an amazing trip. For us the highlight was definitely Switzerland the views were fantastic and the town of Lucerne is pristine. Would definitely recommend this trip.
Great tour if you're short on time. Touches on the highlights and you can get a taste of Europe and perhaps where to come back to.
We had a good trip. This was are 3rd trip with this company. On the previous 2 trips we got small gifts for going with this company. This time we did not get anything. We were kinda surprised by that. Maybe our 1st 2 tour directors went above and beyond. I’m not sure. The last xtra excursions were good. We saw and did a lot. The last hotel we stayed in (in Paris) was in an ugly neighborhood and I thought was sub par.
Trafalgar is an excellent company and I’m so glad that I had the chance to do the European Highlights tour with my two daughters. Traveling from Amsterdam to Paris to experience European highlights was incredible. Each place had its own unique charm and we learned so much history, art and culture in each of our stops . Switzerland was just amazing , the Black Forest was stunningly beautiful , the canal cruise in Amsterdam was lovely , Heidelberg was fascinating and beautiful . Paris was an incredible experience , there were several optional trips to take advantage of as well throughout the tour . I would suggest going a day early , because I felt like we missed getting to just walk around in Amsterdam because we spent the better part of that first day traveling through the airport . All in all , it’s a great way to sample several countries while our driver and guide brought us to each country and location
is the best travel guide / she made the experience so fun for our honeymoon and is incredibly knowledgeable of the areas we visited.
Trafalgar put on an excellent itinerary! Our European experience will always be cherished!
It was a full 6 days seeing highlights from Nederland to Paris. Our tour director was fun and very helpful. Each place we stopped we had time to see the sights have a meal and find a bathroom! Our tour director gave us great insight into the history of the countries we passed through. We were made aware of cultural differences and how to blend in to our surroundings. Very helpful language tips also helped. The hotels we on the whole in great places and comfortable. The hotels in Paris was a new location for Trafalgar and didn’t match up to the rest of the tour. Our Rhine cruise was memorable as was the optional experience in Switzerland with a meal And entertainment The river cruise in Paris was with the general public and very crowded. A smaller boat would have worked well. I felt that the number of people on our tour 48, was a bit big and would have preferred a smaller group.
Good sampler for travelers who have never been to this part of the world. We enjoyed the experiences and sights in each location. Be prepared for very early mornings and a lot of time on the bus. However, our travel director was very knowledgeable and used the travel time to educate us about the places we were visiting. We had a wonderful trip!
This was a quick and fully packed trip of highlights and information about places I have always heard about. It helped me realize how wonderful Europe is and how much more there is to see. I is so different than the U.S. and to see the places I've studied in school and heard about makes me want to see more and learn more. It was a super highlight trip.
European Highlights was informative, a nice balance of group touring, with some free time daily. The Tour Director was excellent and detail-oriented. He sent daily messages through What’s App to everyone with details to the timings for breakfast, and departures of the hotels and other relevant information for the day. Our bus driver was top-notch and the bus itself was quite comfortable and new. We rotated seats daily as per a posted seating chart so everyone had a different view point as we drove along. There was one day where the drive took 8 hours and that was a bit tedious. But very worth it to arrive in Paris which was stunning. Each city was so interesting to visit and learn about. They stopped for bathroom breaks about every 2 1/2 hours. There is an “emergency only” bathroom on the bus which was fine, as no one seemed to need it, so no smells on the bus. The local specialist we had in Paris was excellent. The optional experiences were good, but some of the food was just mediocre. We found good restaurants on our own by using on-line searches. The hotels were better than expected, with bigger breakfasts daily. The location of the hotels was outside of city centers, but not too far from them. Check- in is a breeze; you basically just walk in and the director hands you your hotel key cards; nothing to sign. The fast-paced early mornings and moving to new hotels almost daily took getting used to, on top of the jet lag, and little downtime was tiring, but most people slept a little on the bus. The included and optional activities were nice, and included several boat rides which were very relaxing. Be sure to check the activity level before you book any tour. Some require much more walking than this tour. The group-size was 49, and while that sounds huge was actually just fine for this overview type of tour. People ranged from quiet teens with their parent to couples in their 30’s, 50’s, 60’s, and one in their mid 70’s. There was one young woman who was traveling solo, and many took her “under their wing” as she was a pleasant person traveling to celebrate a milestone birthday. The tour group consisted of really very nice, friendly people from all over the world including Australia, Canada, Singapore, New Zealand, and the United States. Over-all, I’d book again with Trafalgar as they were organized and took very good care of everyone, and all the logistics of travel.
It was a wonderful trip, well organized and our travel director and bus driver were excellent and made this trip one we won’t forget .
Excellent tour guide. We saw so much in a short amount of time. Not possible if travelling on your own. Excellent value ..
The itinerary is a good mix to experience the culture. There is a balance in the physical workout, between walking and resting which is good. You won't get too tired.
My preference when travelling is to learn about the country’s culture, language and food. This trip could not have embodied that more. Every place we stopped, visited, ate, was well thought out. with us paired with local families and businesses. Amanda knew her countries, her people and especially the history. We even found time to do a few extras while still keeping on track and time. Everyone was her friend wherever we went. To manage 48 different personalities, learn all their names and some of our quirks was amazing. I appreciated the informative videos as we entered each country. Our driver Ben was excellent, on time and a magician with that huge bus on narrow streets. I wasn’t sure what to expect with 4 countries in 6 days but this trip exceeded my expectations.
It was a well executed trip. The guide was excellent both in knowledge and attitude. I have already recommend this trip. My only recommendation might be to cut out the Lucerne Lion, or the farm , or the clock demo and include a castle tour.
We absolutely loved this itinerary and could not fault the tour director and driver . Few hotel issues we had in Hydelberg where the toilet flooded and there was no cooling. Could not open window as we were located right next to a train station very loud. Would not this hotel for the price we paid. Also Paris hotel and its location, terrible area did not feel safe to walk around the area. Again for a Trafalgar tour the accomodation location did not match. I would except it for a cost saver not Trafalgar
Accommodation was fine as far as the hotels themselves went, but the location of one beside a railway terminal, and another in Paris, in a rather sketchy area where one would not care to walk at night, were poor choices.
Had an amazing time on our European Highlights trip! Keep in my mind that it is very jam packed with early starts to the day, but participating in the optional experiences made the whole trip even more worth it. A few of these experiences paired our tour up with locals, and those were my favorite moments. My only note was not being given any sort of itinerary prior to or at the start of the tour. I personally was going off of what was on the website to help track my days, but we didn't follow that completely either. I understand the need for flexibility, especially with changing weather, but somewhat of an in advance idea would've been helpful to plan out free time better or even to know what shoes to wear that day. All in all, so many happy memories!
It was a wonderful way to get a taste of four European cities: Amsterdam, Heidelberg, Lucern and Paris. our guide and our driver did a great job whisking us through the cities safely and enjoyably in about a week. We saw alot. I plan to visit each place again!
Hotels are nice but locations are not always convenient. I always prefer city center and would pay more for walkability. Our tour guide was professional and attentive to various group interests. The local guides were knowledgeable and enhanced the Versailles experience greatly. We added a day in Amsterdam and that was essential for any appreciation of this wonderful city. Add a day to the tour! The tour group was very enjoyable for a full bus. As the number of travelers goes up there can be outliers but not this time.
