Is this trip right for you
  • Don’t let the heat keep you from exploring the world! Summer temperatures can be extremely high in Morocco (over 40°C), which can make things uncomfortable. It’s essential to use sun protection, wear layers to combat the heat, and drink plenty of water.
  • Ramadan is an annual month-long festival, during which travel can be a rewarding cultural experience, however some regular services may not be available during the day, such as restaurants or cafes, and occasionally travel can be disrupted by events. Your leader will adjust the itinerary accordingly, but please consider this when selecting your travel dates. You’ll find dates and further information in the ‘Climate and seasonal information’ section of the Essential Trip Information.
COVID VACCINATION POLICY
  • Proof of vaccination against COVID-19 is no longer mandatory on departures after 1st January 2023. Nonetheless, all travellers are strongly advised to be vaccinated as a safety measure to protect themselves and others on the tour. This policy excludes all Polar trips and select adventure cruises, where testing and vaccination are required.
  • Also, proof of vaccination may still be required at specific entry points or by the airlines. Therefore, please make sure to check all the travel requirements carefully before travelling.
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS Find answers to the most frequently asked questions about this tour.
  • Is winter a good time to take this tour and visit Morocco? What can I expect?

As a desert country, Morocco can have extreme weather. Winter (November to March) can be cold, particularly in the mountains or near the desert. Night temperatures can drop to 5 degrees Celsius or less.

We recommend bringing a good sleeping bag, thermals, scarf, gloves and a warm jacket for travel in winter. Some of our guesthouses/hotels are unable to supply heating as this would be a major financial and environmental strain. It is also a case of energy supply and timing provisions, which is limited in some places. Please be prepared for cold showers.

On this trip, you are going to cross the High Atlas Mountains through the impressive Tizi n’Tichka pass. During winter months this part of Morocco may experience snowstorms and it is possible for Tizi n’Tichka pass to become impassable, usually just for a day until authorities have a chance to clear the road. In the event of a snowstorm, your itinerary may require changing. In any case, you will be adequately informed.
