About

I was born and raised in Argentina, although I spent some time living in Europe and New Zealand. When I was a child, my father would tell me stories of his trips around the most inhospitable corners of Patagonia. When I got older, I followed his travel-footsteps by traveling around Argentina, Chile, and some other areas. It was during this time that I realized that I wanted to take travel further by studying and working in the travel industry. Within the big world of this industry, I found a niche which makes me very happy: organizing tailor-made trips for foreign visitors who want to visit Argentina and Chile. And of course, sharing stories with them :-)

I live in Buenos Aires with my wife and our small son. I like drinking "mate", and yes: I also like saying that "Argentina is the best in the world" while knowing, of course, that there are many other amazing places out there :-p

Santiago's Travel Expertise

I'm trained and specialized in Argentina, Chile and Antarctica. However, I have way more knowledge about Argentina as compared with the other destinations, except for Torres del Paine, Natales, Punta Arenas and Atacama, which are locations I work with frequently.

I have particular knowledge (besides the classic sightseeing) in the following travel styles: outdoors, trekking, hiking, wildlife, photography, road trips (with driver or self-drive), luxury travel and food & gastronomy. I also am skilled at working with travellers that have particular needs/wishes (this can mean traveling on a budget, playing football, dancing the Tango, etc).

I am also great at sorting out very convenient logistics for visiting different destinations in short periods of time and distributing and organizing the activities/destinations in a way that the travelers can make the best out of their time. I can also help clients determine suitable destinations, amount of days, time(s) to visit, and experiences to try for those who can't decide.

Many people that I have worked with have told me that they felt that I understood their preferences during the process of planning the trip, which makes a big difference for organizing a personalized experience.

Santiago's best travel experience

One of my most memorable trips was a road trip I took through Patagonia with my father, my brother, and my grandfather. Three generations travelling thousands of kilometres, zig-zagging through Puerto Madryn, Peninsula Valdes, Ruta 3, Puerto San Julian, Tierra del Fuego, Ushuaia, Punta Arenas, Torres del Paine, El Calafate, El Chalten, Bariloche, Ruta 40, and other remote corners in the middle of nowhere.

I remember that we were traveling in my grandfather's very old car. He didn't bring the documentation for the car since he "didn't want to lose it". We only realized this when we reached a control in Trelew (1500 km from home) and the police wanted to take the car because we did not have the papers. Somehow magically (it seemed to me) the documents arrived on a flight the following day!

Why is Santiago the right travel expert

I am a true local and I have traveled around Argentina and Chile as a tourist and a professional. I work hard to understand the needs and preferences of the travelers, and I work hard to reply as fast as possible in order to provide clients with a personalized quote/itinerary in the shortest possible time.

I don't work alone, but with a team of experts on each destination of Argentina and Chile. We're part of a team that counts with expertise and credentials as well.

And perhaps most importantly, I like what I do!
