Hi, my name is Roberto. I was born in Croatia in Dubrovnik and spent my early years in the countryside of Pelješac peninsula. I believe that being in nature from an early age fostered my love of nature and exploring.
Now, when I think about my school days and my wild escapes into nature, I am glad there was no mobile phone back then, so my mum didn’t know that I was I climbing on rocks or trees, sneaking into caves, biking where you would not even go with a tractor, kayaking in the open sea…etc. As a parent, I think I would freak out if I knew my son was doing those same things. Or perhaps I was just braver as a kid than now!
Sport and music were always a big part of my life. I played soccer all through school and wanted to be a successful player, but many injuries, unfortunately, stopped me on my way. At the point when I realized I would not go any further with soccer actually set the path for my future decisions in my life. I decided to study law (and later I added mechanical engineering) in Zagreb.
While studying, I joined a university rowing team, as my leg injury meant I could not play soccer. During one of the trainings, one of my friends asked me would I like to do some rafting. I needed a summer job, so I said yes. Soon, it became my full-time job.
Then, after years of working in tourism, at one point I decided that the time had come for me to take control of my future and open my own, family-owned travel company. We put all of our knowledge and passion into it!
Robert's Travel Expertise
I specialise in tailor-made trips in Croatia and around the area. In particular, my specialities are in adventure trips, as I have been a guide on all of them; culture, and I am licenced for Croatia; food, as I love cooking; wine, I even make my own wine, a long family tradition; and any outdoor activity, you name it!
After lots of training and whole summers on rivers, guiding river rafting and kayaking and multi-sport tours, I earned my IRF (International Rafting Federation) certificate.
In an effort to be able to present every aspect of the country to my clients, and increase my knowledge and skills, I became a licensed tour guide in Croatia, and a local and city guide for Zagreb, Plitvice Lakes, Split and Dubrovnik. I also added Croatian Mountain Rescue certificate and Bike Guide certificate.
Then, a few years ago, I went on a sailing trip and I loved it. One thing led to another and some time afterwards I got my Skipper license to do sailing in beautiful Adriatic.

Robert's best travel experience
A few years ago, I got won a “top guide” award, which led me to the USA. Here, I travelled for almost a month along the west coast. I saw so many places including Seattle, Mount Ranier, Portland, Redwoods Park, Yosemite, San Francisco, Napa Valley, Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, the Joshua tree, Disneyland, and so many more. However, the thing that I will remember the most is the beautiful people from all those places that I visited. Although I was a solo traveller, I was never alone. There was always someone who joined me on my adventures. Without those people, my friends, my experience would not be the same. For example, throwing the fish at Pikes Market in Seattle or singing with gospel singers. Overall, the whole trip was an experience that I will never forget, and it warmed my heart! That is the experience and feeling I want to share and give to others.
Why is Robert the right travel expert
Every single guided trip that we offer I have done myself. And not as a visitor — I personally guided these trips for many years, and I know every rock on our hiking trails, every cove on the kayaking trips, backroads on our cycling trips, etc. I personally have been to all hotels we work with, tested the bikes and been a local city guide at many locations in Croatia.
I give maximum flexibility and try to accommodate on every level. Also, I love to pass my knowledge and expertise on others! But above all, I care about every single traveller as my own family. In the end, if you are happy, I am happy.
As proof of our quality, we have lots of returning clients and our main form of marketing is still word of mouth!
