I was born and brought up in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Even as a young girl, I was always intrigued by what lay beyond the place that I called home. I love the adventure that travel brings; visiting what is different and new. Growing up, I was fortunate enough to travel and visit many beautiful parts of Sri Lanka, and there is still more that I want to explore.

After graduating with a degree in mass communication, I fed my passion for travel and learning languages. My travel favorites are incredible and unique landscapes, amazing adventures, safaris, hikes, rafting, snorkeling, scuba diving, and ocean walking.

Traveling suits my style of learning — I have always been a practical learner. Aside from being able to work with people who share the same passion for travel and Sri Lanka, working in tourism allows me to meet people from all walks of life, which I think is fantastic!

Rajika's Travel Expertise

My favorite destination in Sri Lanka is the Central Highlands, simply because of the cool climate and amazing mountain views. As a tour planner, I have been lucky enough to also explore many other destinations in Sri Lanka which I can recommend, including rainforests, grasslands, tea plantations, virgin jungles, mangrove swamps, dry zone areas, white sandy beaches and several national parks. I love designing active trips that include activities such as snorkeling, rafting, hiking, safaris, and trekking.

Rajika's best travel experience

For our honeymoon, my husband and I went to India and Bali. During this trip, my childhood dream of touching snow came true in Shimla and Manali of India. I remember it being very cold outside and with every step I took I could feel the snow crunching beneath my boots. It was something I had never experienced before! Everything was covered in white flakes; it was so beautiful. We threw snowballs at each other and played in the snow as if we were kids.

Next, we headed to Bali where we went on a trip to Nusa islands: Penida, Ceningan, Lembongan, and Ubud, Seminyak and Uluwatu. The islands were so beautiful — definitely one of my absolute favorite destinations so far. Thee vibrant culture, delicious food, unreal sunsets and of course, the beaches, are so vivid in my memory.

Why is Rajika the right travel expert

As a local, I have an intimate knowledge of the landscape and its culture. I have traveled through many cities, villages and national parks of Sri Lanka that puts me in a good place to design all kinds of trips. As mentioned earlier, I have a soft spot for activity-based trips, but if a client wants a slow-paced, relaxed, sightseeing-infused trip, I can prepare it too. I will ensure that you get to see the best places, try the best local food and also explore the hidden gems.
