About

I was born and grew up in Guimarães, the “cradle of the nation” of Portugal, a medieval city with a cinquecentist center and wonderful gastronomy. It's located 30 minutes away from the city of Porto and it has an important history. I always encourage foreigners to visit.

After graduating in International Relations, I went on to get a master's degree in Tourism Management. While studying, I decided to venture out and do an internship in the center of Europe to learn about different cultures and have new experiences. While there, I also developed an enthusiasm for my own country, especially the beautiful historical places and diverse gastronomy of the north, and decided I wanted to share it with people from around the world.

I wish to develop myself in the area of inbound tourism and also the attractiveness of Portugal.

Gabriela's Travel Expertise

I specialize in the north of Portugal. In my free time, I like to explore the small historic villages in the north and each one's traditional dish. Because I'm from Guimarães, I also have a special passion for medieval and other historical times, especially the fairs for staging and recreating historical events.

I also specialize in planning all kinds of trips to Portugal that are specific to clients' requests. What I love about Portugal is that it is a very versatile country, whether in terms of food, different styles of architecture and historical origins, different types of wine, specialized industrial activities such as tile, cork, cheese, pottery, etc, and different types of climate and landscapes. You can find mountain ranges in northern Portugal as well as endless magnificent green views throughout the Douro Valley, historic villages along the center of the country, paradise beaches in the Algarve region and along the Costa Vicentina, the "desert" in the heat of the Alentejo region, tropical weather in the archipelagos of Madeira and the Azores...

Gabriela's best travel experience

As a traveler, my most memorable experience was my time in Bratislava, Slovakia. I had the loveliest time connecting with people, both locally and from all over the world, Peru, Italy, Turkey, Cyprus, Spain, Poland, Cambodia, etc. I spent my free time getting to know the city and its gastronomy; I strongly recommend tasting a "bryndzove halusky" and "pirohy bryndzove". On the weekends, I traveled with my friends to other nearby countries.

Then, one New Year, my friends I had met there came to Portugal for one week and I took them to the beach, to Guimarães, Braga, Porto, Ponte de Lima, and Douro, and I introduced them to several typical dishes, I felt so happy and proud because they liked everything!
