About

After moving to Norway seven years ago, I completely fell in love with the history, culture, and people of this fascinating country. I got involved in tourism as soon as I moved here—I was teaching at the University of Oslo but quickly realized I loved tourism so much more. I became a full-time tour guide in 2016 and never looked back.

My work has opened up so many opportunities. I have been leading multi-day tours through Denmark, Norway, and Finland since 2017 and have also been working as a tour operator and agent. I have been to all corners of Northern Europe and have seen many exciting things, from Hvaldimir the Beluga Whale in Hammerfest to passing the royals in Copenhagen. I love exploring unique locations in small towns and learning about the history and everyday life of a location.

I personally love driving and can drive all day long in Scandinavia. I love stopping on the side of the road to visit a farm, go for a small hike, or peek inside a rural church. Sampling local food is a favorite activity of mine, too!

Emma's Travel Expertise

I specialize in road trips in Scandinavia. I have driven to all corners of Norway at all times of the year and know the best places to visit and routes to take. I have also been on Hurtigruten/Havila many times and can advise about that.

One of my favorite times to visit is in winter, and I have been fortunate enough to see the Northern Lights many, many times.

I look forward to sharing my experiences and creating an itinerary for you!

Emma's best travel experience

I've had so many amazing experiences working as a tour guide that I can't list them all. I remember one, in particular, I was visiting Ivalo in Lapland in 2019 and got to watch one of the most incredible Northern Lights shows I've ever seen. The lights were purple and red and dancing in huge waves above me. I got to stand in the middle of a frozen lake watching them!

Why is Emma the right travel expert

I have spent years guiding people through Scandinavia and truly understand what travelers want to see. I also understand what it is like to see Scandinavia from an outside perspective (I am originally from Australia), but I have lived in Scandinavia for most of my adult life and know how things work locally. For many, Scandinavia is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I love being able to make sure you see the best things and have the best experiences possible.
