Emir was a skilled and patient driver driving through mountainous areas where we would not be comfortable driving ourselves. We visited the Sumela Monastery, Aya Sophia (Trabzon), Atatürk Mansion, Uzungöl and Ayder. We stayed at a different place each night which allowed us to see more in each area. We were treated to a visit to a tea garden where we took part in harvesting tea leaves and were welcomed into the home of Alican's brother. We felt like we were traveling with and visiting family.
