Travel Tips

  • Non-Chinese citizens are required to have a travel permit for a trip to Tibet and that can only be obtained by booking a tour. 
  • The extremely high elevation of Tibet can leave visitors vulnerable to altitude sickness and sunburn. Precautionary measures are advised to avoid health complications. 
  • Be sure to follow all rules and customs when entering monasteries in Tibet.
  • Visits to Yamdrok Tso Lake will not be feasible from November to March due to undriveable road conditions. 
  • Summer (June to August) is the best time to schedule your tour due to frigid winter conditions.
