Canyoners navigate their way down water filled gorges by swimming through rock pools, sliding down chutes and clambering over the rocks and other unique features of a canyon. This pastime combines elements from different outdoor disciplines, including scrambling, abseiling, cliff jumping and swimming and requires local knowledge and rope-rigging skills to be done safely. What’s a canyon like: Canyons usually range from easy to medium in difficulty. You will spend between 3 to 6 hours in canyons. The canyons you will be travelling to are easy accessible. Before the activity starts, we will provide you with training and education on how to use the equipment. What’s Thessaloniki like Thessaloniki is one of the biggest and nicest cities in Greece. Plenty of places are there for shopping, eating and strolling around. The Meteora is a rock formation in central Greece hosting one of the largest and most precipitously built complexes of Eastern Orthodox monasteries, second in importance only to Mount Athos. It is an easy hike through. What skills/experience/fitness do I need? You need no experience for this. Your guide and instructor will give you full instructions and a safety briefing at the start.
