It is a dream to see the world’s tallest mountain. Here at the roof of the world lies Mt. Everest, majestically rising to an elevation of 8,848 meters (29,029 ft.). It is surrounded by other incredibly high mountains as well as the famous Sherpa people who have managed to create a life here in one of the most inhospitable climates the world has to offer.

Many trekkers take the shorter Everest Base Camp Trek where they go to Base Camp and back in just a few days. Sure, they might save time, but they also miss some of the best scenery this region has to offer. We will take you to Everest Base Camp by way of incredible Gokyo Valley with its beautiful sacred lakes.

Venture to Namche Bazaar, the commercial centre and capital city of the Khumbu region. The journey continues to the famous Tyangboche Buddhist Monastery, the world’s highest monastery with Mt. Ama Dablam (elev. 6.921 m) as a backdrop.

Climb Mt. Kalapathar (elev. 5,616 m) for the most incredible views of Mt. Everest anywhere on the planet. From here, you see not only Everest but other giant Himalayan peaks including three other 8000+ meter peaks (Cho-Oyu, Lhotse and Makalu).

This is the dream trek for those who love the mountains and a rewarding adventure. We hope to see you on this wonderful trek to the very roof the world!

“Fantástico viaje con mi pareja Araceli, con visita a Katmandú y posterior trek hasta Gokyo Ri. Una experiencia muy recomendable y que pensamos repetir en cuanto sea posible a la zona de los Anapurnas. Como amantes de la montaña era el viaje soñado, y cumplió con creces todas nuestras expectativas. La atención de Dil perfecta, pero lo mejor de todo la compañía de nuestro guía de montaña Raj Kharel, sin el cual el treking no habría sido lo mismo.

The journey to the Khumbu region (Everest) begins today as we fly from Kathmandu to Lukla. It’s a 35 minute flight to reach this airport where we will start our trek. It’s a short trekking day, around four hours.

Pass along fast flowing streams and through dense jungles until we reach the village of Phakding. There will be time to explore the village and begin to immerse yourself in Sherpa culture. We will spend the night at a tea house.
Guest house
Today we arrive at the Sherpa capital of the Khumbu district: Namche Bazaar. We climb upwards on the trail, entering Sagarmatha National Park. We will see our first glimpse of Mt. Everest today on the trek. It is a steep climb to reach this village which is nestled in a circular valley. Spend two nights at 35-minute tea house in the village.
Guest house
The elevation of the Khumbu region is very high and the air is quite thin. It is necessary for us to spend a day allowing our bodies to adjust to the thinner mountain air. We will spend the day here enjoying the village which features a bank, quite a number of shops, an internet café, restaurants and 35-minute bakery. There is also a Sherpa museum to help you learn more about these amazing mountain people. You can also choose to take a day hike to Syangboche for an awesome view of Mt. Everest.
Guest house
We leave early today to make our way to the village of Dole. We follow the trail to Everest Base Camp before turning off to first travel to the Gokyo region. We pass through a number of villages, including the village of Mong, the birthplace of St. Lama Sange Dorje who brought Buddhism to the Khumbu region.

As we gain elevation, we pass through various kharkas, which are high summer pastures. All along the way today are great views of snowcapped peaks. We finally arrive at Dole Village to spend the night at a local tea house.
Guest house
Today is a shorter day, which will allow us to further acclimatise to the higher alpine elevations. The morning is a steep trek through awesome scenery. The forests here are conifer and rhododendron before giving way to low juniper bushes as we pass above the tree line. We stop high above the valley below us; spending the night at a tea house in Machhermo.
Guest house
Today is a high altitude trek as we cross the pass to reach the awe-inspiring Gokyo Valley. The skyline today is interspersed with views of several Himalayan peaks, including Mt. Cho Oyo at 8,153 m. We can see four of the sacred Gokyo Lakes from the heights today. Gokyo is a beautiful, yet small village with stone buildings and pastures enclosed by stone walls. We will spend two night in a tea house here.
Guest house
We will allow our bodies to acclimatise here today, but it won’t be a day of just sitting around! We will ascend to the top of Mt. Gokyo Ri to experience one of the finest views of the Khumbu region. Here we can see Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Nuptse (7,879 m) Mt. Lhotse (8,511 m) and Mt. Makalu (8,463 m). Another of the 8000+ meters on view from Mt. Gokyo Ri is Cho Oyo, rising to an elevation of 8,153 m. There are also a number of smaller, snowcapped peaks to behold as well as views of the Gokyo Valley and its sacred lakes shimmering below.

Return to our tea house for the night.

Today is a long and difficult trek as we cross the southern end of the Ngozumpa Glacier. The trail is steep as we make our way upward to reach the kharka of Chhyugima. Also known as Dragnag, it’s a wind-blown location where we can find a basic tea house to spend the night. It is a strenuous day, but one that will feature great views of the highest mountains in the world.
Guest house
We climb over rocks, ice and snow to reach Cho La Pass (elev. 5,420 m/17,782 ft.). This pass separates the Cho Oyu and Everest Valleys. It is a challenge to make today’s trek, but what incredible vistas there are to behold. We will find a tea house at Dzonglha where we will spend the night.
Guest house
The trail takes us above Tsholo Lake and will join up with the main trail to Everest Base Camp. We reach the moraine of Khumbu Glacier. Along the way, we will see a number of stone chhortens, which are memorials to Sherpas who have lost their lives trying to climb Mt. Everest. We will spend the night at a tea house at Lobuche.
Guest house
We rise early and trek along the Khumbu glacier. We will see more visitors on this part of the trek as this is the main route to Everest Base Camp. Our destination is the community of Gorap Shep where we will spend two nights at a tea house.
Guest house
Today will be the most specular, closeup view of Mt. Everest of our adventure! We will climb to the top of Mt. Kalapatthar, a trekking peak that requires no special equipment to ascend. From its lofty peak, observe the amazing Himalayas in a 360° panorama. Mt. Kalapatthar is popular with Everest trekkers because of its awesome views of the world’s highest mountain. But from the summit, enjoy other snowcapped peaks. Return from the climb to your tea house at Gorak Shep
Guest house
Dingboche is a popular place to travel through because of its incredible views of the Himalayas. Everywhere you look today, you will be rewarded with the finest views anywhere. We will spend the night at a tea house at Dingboche.

We drop in elevation today to reach Tyangboche. We pass a number of important Buddhist monasteries along the way. We start to see forests again as we pass below the tree line. There are so many incredible views of the high mountains today that you will want to stop and take pictures every few steps. You will never tire of the amazing beauty as you behold the starkness of the Khumbu region. We will spend the night at a tea house in Tyanbhoche.
Guest house
We return from our trek to Namche Bazaar feeling victorious, having conquered the Khumbu region. The residents of Namche Bazaar welcome us with open arms as we relax at a nice tea house here in the village. We can pick up some of those last minute Khumbu handicrafts and sourvenirs here.
Guest house
Today we return to the airport at Lukla, celebrating our final day of trekking. We pass through some familiar places as we make our way to our final stop in the Khumbu region. We will spend the night in a local tea house.

Good to know
Our trip packages includes complete requirement for your holidays: Our trip starts from your arrival at Kathmandu till departure from Kathmandu. It is fully organized that includes accommodation in Kathmandu and trekking, all meals in trekking, all necessary logistic support, guide and porters, trekking permits and entrance fee, etc. There is not any hidden charge. You spend 2 nights in Kathmandu before trekking and another 2 nights after trekking: 2 nights stay in Kathmandu before trekking gives enough time to recover from jetlag, rest to restore energy for trekking and last-minutes preparation of trekking. 2 nights stay in Kathmandu after trekking is considered as reserve days, in case you could not follow itinerary due to any reason need extras days to reach your destination and delay your return from trekking. The trip itinerary is crafted by expertise. It includes plenty of time to insure your leisure and taking you to destination. It is very much flexible where it is necessary. DOMESTIC FLIGHTS: Kathmandu to Lukla and return flight can be affected by weather conditions and congestion which can lead to delays, sometimes of several days. We request you to ensure that you have left spare days to account for moderate delays, but can't guarantee against longer delays which may affect your international flight. A TYPICAL TREKKING DAY A typical day revolves around the Nepal sunrise and sunset, rather than any Western time schedule. The day starts with an early wakeup call. You then pack up your gear and enjoy a rousing breakfast before starting your morning’s walk. The sirdar will already be organized and have assigned loads to porters and your group will then set off on the trail at a leisurely pace, enjoying the view and stopping to take photographs. After 2-3 hours walk you stop for lunch. This lasts for about 90 minutes which gives you time to relax, or explore the local village. The afternoon’s walk is usually shorter and we arrive at the campsite or tea-house in plenty of time to relax and savor the surroundings. Later in the evening dinner is served, giving you an opportunity to sample the delicious food, talk over the day’s events, and look forward to another special day on the trails of Nepal. HEALTH ISSUES We recommend that all clients consult their doctor to discuss the health issues associated with their trek. We also recommend that clients bring their own personal first aid kit to supplement the comprehensive first aid kit carried by the Trek Leader. VACCINATIONS REQUIRED Please ensure that you allow at least 1 month to complete a course of vaccinations. Whilst your personal doctor will be the final authority, we recommend the following : • Poliomyelitis • Typhoid • Tetanus • Rabies • Meningococcal • Immunoglobulin (for Hepatitis A) MALARIA Nepal is listed as a country for which malaria prophylaxis is advised. We will not be visiting any malarial areas on the treks, however you may wish to consult your doctor about the need to take malaria pills. Trekkers who plan to do rafting and jungle excursions are advised to take the necessary medication to protect against malaria. ALTITUDE SICKNESS Many treks in Nepal can take you quite rapidly to high altitudes, so you need to give your body time to acclimatize. If you ascend faster than your body can acclimatize you will start to develop symptoms of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). A headache being the most common symptom, others are nausea, vomiting, fatigue, loss of appetite, dizziness and sleep disturbances. The best way to acclimatize is to ascend slowly and gradually. The common wisdom is that you should take 2-3 days to reach 3000m – If flying in to above this height remember to take extra acclimatization days (for example flying into Lukla). Once above 3000m, you should sleep no more than around 300m above your last nights altitude, and take a rest day every 3 days (or 1000m). At times it can be difficult to stick exactly to this schedule, as villages aren't always conveniently placed for acclimatizing, so you should think of the 300m as an average. During the day it is okay to trek higher as long as you descend to sleep. Remember the mountaineer’s saying "Climb High, Sleep Low". If at any time you get symptoms of AMS you should not climb higher until they are gone. If they persist then you should descend to below the height where they first started. Only start to climb again when they have gone. All of our itineraries allow for a proper acclimatisation schedule, and of course on our private departures you have the freedom to go slower if you are finding it tough - everyone acclimatises at a different rate. Please also consider your guide and porters and watch for signs of AMS in them. They are not immune to AMS. You will find a graph below detailing the acclimatisation schedule. It shows the ideal acclimatisation schedule against suggested itinerary. We always aim to get as close to the ideal as possible taking account of such things as available accommodation and camping spots with water etc. INSURANCE We INSIST that an appropriate insurance policy is taken out which covers travel in isolated and mountainous areas, and which also includes helicopter rescue. We recommend that you consult a reputable insurance agent or insurance specialist. RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT Footwear: Trekking Boots, thick socks, light socks, camp shoes. Clothing: Down or fibre Jacket, filled waterproof jacket and trousers, sweater or fleece jacket, warm cotton trousers, shirts and T-shirts, shorts, long underwear, wool hat, sun hat, gloves, bathing suit, track suit.
