“We went with Kilisa tours based in Moshi, this was my second trip to Tanzania, as I was here with my 16-year-old son on October 2017 ... It was memorable and unforgettable, promised to come back and so I came with my 23-year-old daughter this year. This visit was as good as the first. As the title of the review states. I would rate it all this local tour company if it were possible.
We arrived to check in early, meet the group we were sharing the experience with and they were awesome, got geared up and then started our adventure
We did the 6-days trek via the Machame route which is a very beautiful scenery and it was worthy every minute. The landscapes are really amazing. The hiking is tough but thanks to the guides who were fantastic and reassuring and did put our minds at ease and answered questions while gave information every step of the way.

The porters were Incredible
Fresh, delicious meals everyday made the adventure even better. And shout out to our chef Juma a.k.a Mama Mayoo, lol that’s was what we were told to call him
The WHOLE CREW were friendly and experienced had so much energy and they made everything funny and exciting! [They seem genuinely glad to be of service to you] as they provided a great experience for us. They made my daughter feel like a queen and went above and beyond their role and made us feel relaxed and comfortable with the whole trek

definitely worth every penny
The best part was the experience, because this is really a lifetime experience that we will not forget. We highly recommend this event for those seeking a safe, but breath-taking, experience in Kilimanjaro mountain Climb.”

“Kilisa Tours & Safaris is really a perfect tour operator and we were able to contact from the email to the personal WhatsApp-communication with Naick

Shawn and I spent about 2 weeks in Tanzania, with arrangements made this local tour company who supplied our guide Bacari and Tammy Throughout the Mountain and Chris during our safari and everything was taken care off

porters/cook. Our trip was spent climbing Kilimanjaro 8-Days via Machame Route while we got the chance to Spend a night at Crater Camp during descent and spent 5-Days visiting various animal parks and that include Lake Manyara, Siringet, Tarangire and Ngoro Ngoro but we also we had one day to tour around Moshi town before we departure. We’re so happy we had a great experience with this company.

During our safari we saw more animals and beautiful scenery than we ever thought we would, everything was just thrilling.

And during the climb, well ...It was challenging but worthy the experience besides I asked Bacari and he said All ages and all types climb and summit, so don't let that detour you from trying. Approach with common sense and respect the mountain [Fact] Lol

Okay Why do I recommend this company? So far Kilisa’s Team were attentive, friendly and extremely kind ever since we arrived everything was great and from the experience we had with it feels like it’s their priority to continue providing top-notch service to customers like you always which is I highly recommend you and you and you

Besides they offer the best prices and the highest quality Briefly, everything was really great!

It was truly an amazing wondrous experience.! In the end, climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro was one of the best experiences in my life.”
The tour operator responded on :

“The first day we went to Tarangire and saw many elefants, giraffes, lions, monkeys etc. It was a fun and interesting start of our adventure. The next day we passed Ngorongoro and went to Serengeti. Beside other animals, we saw leopards and buffalos! It was amazing. We also had buffalos around our camp during the night so that was pretty awesome. The last day we saw rhino in the crater! We saw all of the Big 5! Great experience, worth the money and I would definitely recomend it to anyone. We stoped at masai village (Longoko) for an entrance fee of 50$ per car and it was interesting as well.”

Tanzania - Tour Highlights and Travel Tips

Friendly people and a beautiful culture are what makes holidays in Tanzania unique. Tanzania is most famous for Serengeti National Park, one of the best wildlife destinations on the planet. The park is home to those big game animals and is the perfect place for a safari. The wildlife and national parks of Tanzania steal away all the limelight, but the country’s beaches are also known to be equally magical. Tanzania is surrounded by islands that offer sleepy villages steeped in centuries-old culture and Swahili traditions and the powdery beaches that simply blow you away. Mount Kilimanjaro, another highlight of Tanzania, can be conquered by the most inexperienced hikers as well, as long as you carefully acclimatize as you ascend, and have the willpower to summit. A trip to Tanzania would be incomplete without visiting the markets and mosques of Stone Town in Zanzibar.

Travel Highlights

  • Get a bird’s eye view from the peaks of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
  • Experience the Serengeti and see the variety of wildlife it has to offer.
  • Learn about the variety of primate in the Mahale Mountains National Park.
  • Soak up the sun on the Eastern coast of Africa at Unguja, Nugwi, or Matemwe Beaches.
  • Swim with the fishes at Mafia Island, or get an in depth olfactory experience in the Spice Islands.
  • Take in Zanzibar and its mélange of Middle Eastern, African, and Indian cultures

Travel Tips

  • Plan time to see the country; it is vast and takes time to experience.
  • Be on the lookout for creatures that are native to Tanzania, like the Kilimanjaro Shrew, or the Highland Rain Frog.
  • Take the train; many places can be reached by railway.
  • Read up before you go; there is plenty of literature on Tanzania.
  • Pack light; travel is a little more complicated there, so make sure you pack for it.
  • Don’t stick to just the tourist attractions; there is a lot to see that might be a little off the beaten path, like visiting the Underwater Room at the Manta Resort.
  • Keep in mind that the more remote you are, the spottier your reception will be. You won’t be cut off completely, but it will be harder to get a connection.

Tanzania has seasonal weather so please do check up on best time to visit Tanzania before planning your tour. And if you’re still hunting for more things to do and places to explore in Tanzania, do check out our Tanzania Travel Guide for more information.
