Due to outbreaks of Africa Swine Flu, the DMZ area has been closed. So in the meantime, we will conduct the tour in the alternative itinerary;
Ganghwa Peace Observatory → 6.25 Veterans Memorial Park   →  Imjingak → Art Space BEAT 131 → Drop-off at City Hall or Myeongdong (around 2:30 PM)

If you are interested in learning about war history between North and South Korea, this tour is for you! Visit the DMZ area, the closest district to North Korea. Depending on the weather, you might be able to see North Korea through a telescope at the Dora observatory.

Your tour starts with pickup from your hotel in downtown Seoul. During the drive, you will pass by Imjingak Pyeonghoa-Nuri Park, located about 4 miles (7 km) from the Demarcation Line. En route to the DMZ, pass Imjingak Park where many statues and monuments regarding the Korean War can be seen. Discover the "Bridge of Freedom" used by repatriated POWs and soldiers returning from the North. Pass through Unification Village and see the DMZ Theatre and Exhibition Hall. Continue to the Third Tunnel for one of the main highlights of your tour. Here, you will have an opportunity to enter on foot.

Next, stop at Dora Observatory, located on the South Korean side of the 38th parallel (another name for the DMZ). Situated on top of Dora-san (Mt. Dora), the observatory looks across the Demilitarized Zone. It is the part of South Korea closest to North Korea, and you can catch a rare glimpse of the country through binoculars from the 500-person-capacity observatory. You'll get a look at the North Korean propaganda village situated in the DMZ, a remnant of the old prosperity of the North, and see as far as the city of Kaesong. The observatory is very close to the 3rd Tunnel. Dorasan Station, also nearby, is designed to be the station that connects the railroads of the South and North one day in the future.

The tour is 6-hours, including transport time. You can choose to have lunch included – select your preferred option upon booking.

“Th dmz is important part of a trip to Korea to understand. We went with our 12ys
Year old child and she found it interesting too. The tunnel I don’t recommend for taller people as you have to hunch over much of the way. But it’s evocotice experience.
My only suggestion would be to update the short film.”
