The lovers of adventure tourism and nature will find in this tour a perfect excuse to visit the city of Salta. It is also the funniest way to get to know the Juramento River Canyon, an incredible place surrounded by geological formations and fossil remains. Our rafting adventure will take you through more than 12 rapids of class II and III, ending at about noon at the base of the canyon, where we can enjoy a delicious Argentinian Asado. The service includes transportation from the center of Salta and lunch
The excursion begins with the departure from our office in the center of Salta, to travel to the town of Coronel Moldes, bordering the Cabra Corral Dam to finally reach the Cañón del Rio Juramento (2 hours drive from Salta Capital). At the base of the site, we will meet our guide, who will give us a brief instructive talk about rafting and safety. The equipment is handed over and the descent through the rapids of the Juramento River begins. There are 12 different class II and III rapids, framed by the imposing landscape of the Juramento River Canyon. The tour ends 12 kms further on in Los Lapachos; there, some vehicles will be waiting for us to take us back to the base, where we will be greeted with a delicious lunch. It consists of a typical "Asado" with several cuts of meat, sausages and salads, as well as water and juices.
You will be able to enjoy the rest of the afternoon free, until the time of return, being able to explore the surroundings on your own. This area has a significant archaeological value since its walls were, 65 million years ago, huge beaches inhabited by prehistoric animals.
At approximately 4:00 , we begin the return trip to Salta City.
