This 10 Days River Rafting Tour starts and ends in Kathmandu. For a detailed itinerary we kindly refer to the Itinerary tab. All rafting will take place in SunKoshi (the river of gold), one of Nepal's best rivers for river rafting. Day 1 and Day 10 will be spent on transport to/from Kathmandu, and the other 8 days will be spent river rafting, enjoying nature, playing games, camping at night - or in short, having a blast!
Running the gigantic waves and the intense yet predictable rapids of the crystal clear Sunkoshi river gives you more than just an adrenaline rush; it makes you feel something which can’t be simply expressed with words, and hence, you gotta try it!
The starting point of the 270 kilometers long river adventure is Dolalghat or Roshi Khola (Nepalthok), which is a 3-hour drive from Kathmandu valley, and the take out point, or end point at Day 10, is Chatara, which is a 16-hour drive from Kathmandu.
From straightforward waves to powerful and intense ones, the rapid of the river changes from class 3 to class 4 as you move further down the river. We will therefore start with easy rapids and slowly get you on top of how to handle bigger rapids.
The best seasons to gain a thrilling and a safe experience of rafting in Sunkoshi is from September to November and May to June. However, please note that Sunkoshi doesn’t just give you a thrilling rafting experience but also gives you a chance to witness Nepal's fascinating nature close up. We are famous for our mountains, but we surely have a lot of other great foras and faunas.
During the trip, you will pass many ethnic villages and their culture, various species of birds and other wildlife. The Sunkoshi rafting which starts from between the mountains of Dolalghat unites with 6 other rivers, Tamakoshi, Dudh Koshi (Milk River), Indrawati, Bhote Koshi, Arun and Tamur at the terrain of Chatara.
This enthralling 10 Days river rafting expedition in Sunkoshi will take you away from the busy streets of Kathmandu, and give you an adventure of a lifetime.
Trekking is good, rafting is great! ;)
If you're looking for shorter river rafting adventures, please do not hesitate to contact us here at Bookmundi. We can easily arrange shorter trips as well.

This 19-day, guided Tilicho Lake trekking takes you to the world's highest lake that is situated amid the Annapurna range. The journey starts from Kathmandu with a sightseeing tour around the valley followed by a scenic bus ride to Beshisahar.
From Besisahar you take a local jeep to Syange, the starting point of the trek. A five-day journey by foot along hilly and mountainous landscape takes you to the picturesque village of Manang. Continue your journey to Tilicho Base Camp, located near the lake.
Time to head down after enjoying the beauty of the glacial lake. Your route back to Pokhara traverses the Thorong La Pass. See the holy Hindu shrine of Muktinath, dedicated to lord Shiva, as you head for the stunning Jomsom Valley. A flight from Jomsom (not included in the tour price) will take you to Pokhara from where you will drive back to Kathmandu.
Venture into one of the most iconic treks in the world. The Thorong La Pass Trek also called Annapurna Circuit Trek is a popular and breathtakingly beautiful trekking route offering a mesmerizing blend of natural beauty, cultural exploration, and challenging mountainous terrain. The trek takes you through diverse landscapes, from lush green valleys to arid high-altitude deserts, the trans-Himalayan region, and provides stunning views of snow-capped peaks, including the mighty Annapurna massif.
Within the Annapurna Conservation Area, the trail winds through terraced fields, quaint villages, and rhododendron forests, gradually gaining elevation to rough terrain and into the trans-Himalayan region and through the Kali Gandaki Gorge, the deepest gorge in the world. Along the way, you will encounter friendly locals from different ethnic communities of Gurungs, Magars, and Thakalis as you traverse charming villages, including the Holy site Muktinath, which holds great religious significance for Hindus and Buddhists.
Summiting the Thorong La Pass and standing at an altitude of 5,416 meters rewards the spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, including Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu. Along the trek, you will also witness the Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri mountains.
Mera Peak (6,461 m), the highest trekking mountain in Nepal, is reached via Mera Peak Climbing. Anyone with a little bit of mountaineering experience should climb Mera Peak. Due to its elevation, it is a difficult trekking peak, although only very basic technical climbing skills are needed. Off-the-beaten-path in the rarely visited Hinku Valley is the climb to Mera Peak. The trail is isolated, the surroundings are untamed and clean, and there are not many populated areas. You'll spend the most of your nights in teahouses at yak herders' summer camps or remote kharkas.
Although Mera Peak is not particularly difficult technically, it is tall at 6476 m, has a long summit day, and is exposed to the elements. You need to drink plenty of water and keep your pace manageable and slow. Although the snow route itself is not particularly difficult, it is a long day out and will wear you out. You must feel at ease moving while cinched in and keeping a safe line while moving on a man rope. You also need to know how to walk in crampons and use your walking axe to self-arrest. We set up a high camp for this peak, so you should be comfortable camping on snow. It's also crucial to stay warm, dry, hydrated, and well-fed to be in the best condition on summit day.
Langtang is the nearest trek to the Himalayas from Kathmandu. On this guided trek, reach up to and back from the lap of the Himalayas in just 10 short days. This Himalayan adventure takes you across the pristine landscape of the Langtang region as you discover the local ethnic culture and the highland life of Nepal.
Although a Himalayan adventure, it is moderately difficult trekking. With the stunning panoramas of the highest peaks in the world, you will also pass through numerous local villages and get a deeper understanding of the culture along the trail. You will find stunning close-up views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers of Langtang Lirung (7,246 m), Kimshung (6,781 m) and Langshisha Ri (6,370 m).
The region was one of the worst hit places in Nepal during the devastating earthquakes in 2015—a dry landslide swept away the whole Langtang village. But the region has quickly gotten back to its feet and is welcoming visitors again. This might also be a great opportunity to understand the impact of the disaster in the country, if you choose to do so.
In addition to the Langtang Valley Trek, the region also offers an incredible trek across the Ganjo La Pass and provides more opportunities to explore its cultural wonders. You can also extend this trip to Gosainkunda to make it Langtang Gosainkunda Trek.

Are you looking for a climbing challenge? Join our super adventure climbing program that includes the three most famous peaks in the Everest Region: Pokalde Peak, Island Peak, and Lobuche East Peak. Our program has been carefully designed with a gradual ascent, proper acclimatization, and escalating complexity in mind. We are sure that the sense of accomplishment you will experience after scaling three of the most famous Peaks in the Everest region will linger in your memory forever!
Pokalde Peak or the Dolma Ri (5806m) is comparatively the easiest climb. Island Peak (6,189m), originally known as the Imja Tse, is located in the heart of the Everest region and derives its name from its striking location in the middle of the Chhukung valley, like an Island on a sea of ice. It is a tougher climb than Pokalde, but still, Mount Lobuche East (6119m) climb is the most challenging of the three.
We'll begin our trip following the famous Everest trail via Namche, Tengboche, and Dingboche. The trail to Pokalde Peak deviates from Dingboche while following through the usual route to Everest Base Camp. We will cross the Kongma La pass (5,535 meters) to reach the high camp of the peak. The trek from the camp through the rocky trail eventually rewards you with an extraordinary mountain spectacle including Mt Makalu, Ama Dablam, Pumori, and a vast mountain vista of the Khumbu region. After summiting Pokalde Peak, we trek to Chhukung for our next target, Island Peak. Hard efforts getting to the top of Island peak are worth finding Lhotse, Nuptse, Baruntse, Ama Dablam and Makalu at tip of your nose. Having done Island peak we descend down to Dingboche, trek up to Everest Base camp and Kala Patthar and move forward to Lobuche East peak. Having done with Lobuche East peak, one of the most challenging among 'trekkers peaks' in the Everest region we retrace our path to Lukla via Namche with a sense of achievement.
