“Set out in May 2017 for my first ever Himalayan trek. By good fortune I chose the GHT Langtang via Tilman Pass route. Highlights included the Game of Thornes like rhododendron forests and atmospheric pilgrimage site of Panch Pokhari. My favourite day started camping on a boulder field by the glacier just below the 5,300 Tilman pass. The walk over the pass delivered a truly spectacular vista of mountains front, side and rear before descending into the remote Langtang Valley. The trek down the valley took four days and we saw the after effects of the earthquake as we passed through alpine yak pastures, forests beside the mighty Langtang River and then near sub-topical jungle before arriving at Syabru Besi. The organisation throughout was excellent, the porters and Sherpas really helpful and the guides (led by Bikesh) were excellent. The campsites were well chosen and the equipment was in good conditions. The food was tasty, wholesome and in large portions. Most importantly the whole team, trekkers and support staff alike got on really well. All in all a wonderful introduction to Himalayan trekking. Thank you to our tour company.”

“What can one say to sum up five months crossing the Himalaya from east to west Nepal It has everything from high mountain passes and days in the snow, low land agricultural areas and the summer heat, the high and dry regions of Dolpo, and finally the wet monsoon rains of the west. The challenges one faces on a journey of this length are not just physical, but also mental; getting up and walking for 6-8 hours day in, day out, rain or shine. However the experiences and people you meet along the way, whether fellow clients, the amazing staff, or the local Nepalese make it all worth while, and ensure every one of the 152 days contains a different highlight. To spend five months in Nepal is an amazing and eye opening experience which Id recommend to anyone with the time, resources and personal drive to do. A definite challenge but well worth the effort.”

“I had a most wonderful and life changing trek in the Himalayan Mountains in May and June this year. The Annapurna section was beautiful, with extraordinary views and a lot of lush green areas which contrasted well with the sensational mountain passes. The Upper Dolpo section was more remote, more barren and had many more high mountain passes. It was absolutely spectacular. The tour company provided (as always in my experience) expert guides and when I developed a serious problem with my foot a pony was miraculously found for me.....it was so exciting riding a pony up and down mountain passes. I felt like I was in the movie "The Man From Snowy River". I had set myself a challenge to walk part of the GHT, and while I did not complete all of it due to injury, I have come home with a fresh perspective on life and living, and yes, I have found the meaning of my life.”
