Taste the unique flavours and meet the local faces of Quito on this culinary tour through the sweet spots of this fair city. Start the morning by joining your guide on a visit to one of the city’s most traditional food markets, and browse among the stalls for the products you’ll be using later in your cooking class. From there, we’ll visit one of the oldest bakeries in the city, and see how the iconic quesadilla is made. We’ll sample traditional flavours that have been perfected over generations!

Next, travel through the backstreets and lesser-known neighbourhoods of Quito as we head to the home of one of the most admired cooks in the old city.  Get ready for a fun and interactive cooking class in an amazing little kitchen!

“Really enjoyed the tour. Was neat to hear about how Pablo put the tour together, discovering the origin of the best quesdillas ans the source of the market empanadas. Would have been good to have a healthier meal though - it was a lot of dough and fried foods. Maybe offer a few samples of the more 'exotic' fruit at the market (of course, paying the vendors).”

“We did the Quito Sweet and Culinary experience, with our fantastic guide George. The tour was a brilliant insight into the city, its history and the lovely food it has to offer. We went to a wonderful food market where George explained what lots of unusual foods where, then to a wonderful hidden away bakery ( which we would never have found other wise ) where we not only got to try the sweets, but go into the kitchens and see the food being made, I got a chance to try hot chocolate with cheese! a local treat. The best part was of course going to a local family's home, helping them cook lunch for us, then of course eating it, wonderful to meet such a lovely family and have this unique chance to see the real Quito and not just to tourist stuff. Our guide was wonderful, gracious, very knowledgeable, about his country and willing to talk about the politics, environment and future for them, it was fantastic and will exceptional English. Please book this trip for the best food and insight into Quito.”

“Exceeded expectations especially with regard to general background info on Ecuador and Quito. The only downside and reason I would not say "10" for how likely I am to recommend this tour to others is the cost, especially given the current US to Can $ exchange. Pablo was very enthusiastic and professional even though I was the only one on the tour that day.”
