- Delve into Cambodia’s turbulent history under the Khmer Rouge
- Pay your respects to lost lives at the Choueng Ek Memorial
- Experience authentic Cambodian culture on Mekong Island
The tour starts with a visit to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum. Previously a high school, it was seized by the Khmer Rouge in 1975, and became the regime’s largest centre of detention and torture.
Next, head out of the city to the Choueng Ek Memorial, where a Buddhist stupa marks the site of the notorious Killing Fields. Here you can pay tribute to those that tragically lost their lives.
After a sombre start, the mood lifts as you travel by tuk-tuk over the Japanese Friendship Bridge, before catching a ferry to Mekong Island. Get a real flavour for Cambodian culture here as you visit local silk weavers, floating fishing farms and a Buddhist temple.
As the tour ends, enjoy sunset over the Mekong River, contemplating all you have discovered about the mesmerizing country that is Cambodia.
