On this tour you will enjoy the best seaside resorts, beaches and islands of Sihanoukville and Kep. Starting at Sihanoukville, you can explore the markets and meander through the city like a local. We will take you to beautiful uncrowded island where you can snorkel and enjoy typical Cambodian meals cooked by the locals.
Moving on to Kep along the Gulf of Siam you can learn about the remnants of French colonial architecture, taste the fresh sea food in the crab markets and visit the caves of the white elephants. You will also be visiting the world best pepper plantations where you get a chance to purchase green and red pepper.
Get a real feel for Cambodia's seaside through this short 5 day tour. At the end of the tour, you will be dropped back to the airport or to Phnom Penh. Please refer to our day to day itinerary to know more about the tour.
By car from PNH(Phnom Penh):
8.00 AM: By road from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville with your guide which is about 4-5 hours drive. Enjoy the beautiful journey, take a break at Yey Mao, where you will learn a little more about beliefs and customs of Khmer. Cross the oil palm plantation or Elaeis Guineensis which is a monocot of the Arecaceae family.
Once we arrive Sihanoukville, we check in at the hotel and after that move around the city by vehicle to the local market, the main beaches, the port etc
In the evening, if you wish, you can be accompanied by your guide and vehicle to finish the day in good mood in a Khmer Tavern with local Orchestra or other more 'classic' restaurants around town.
Overnight in Sihanoukville.
If arriving by flight to KOS (Sihanoukville). You will be picked up by a guide and transferred to the hotel for Check-in. Dependign upon the time of arrival you will be taken around by vehicle to explore the city.
Visit to the Ream beach. A boat will be waiting at the port for a 30 minutes ride to the uncrowded island.The boat is equipped with mask, snorkel and fishing equipment for you to enjoy during the cruise.
At the island, you can you can relax and sunbathe at the beach. Enjoy an authentic Cambodian meal of crab fricassee with green pepper, shrimp soup and grilled fish prepared by our local cook Bopha.
Boat back and overnight in Sihanoukville.
8.00 AM: Start your journey to along the Gulf of Siam. Pass through Kampot, a city rich in remnants of French colonial architecture, a place of transit for explorers of Bokor and caves (Phnom Kampong Trach, Phnom Chhngouk and Phnom Sorsir).
In Kampot you will take a quick city tour, walk along the Kampot River where you can stop at the one of the cafes Terrace that is generally of old colonial houses. If you like you can visit the cave of the white elephant; a colorful pagoda located at its base.
The Kampot region produces many tropical fruits especially the Durian. We have the opportunity to go through the pepper fields, green pepper of Kampot which is known all over the world.
Check-in at the hotel in Kep by evening.
Overnight in Kep.
A relaxed day at Kep, you can go 30 minutes by boat to the Rabbit Island (KohTun Say) which has clean uncrowded lovely beaches with a handful good restaurants 'feet in water'. A small trek is possible on-site (tour of the island).
The vehicle and guide remain at your disposal for a walk in the Kep if you do not want to go to the island. A trek on the hill of Kep is recommended according to your fitness level.
Overnight in Kep.
Relax and move around Kep in the first half of the day , until departure to Phnom Penh. The schedule will be based on following your program (flight departure or continuation).
On the road: Pass by Takeo (districts of Tramkak, Prey Kabas, Samrong and Kirivong).
Visit the Phnom Chisor temple situated on a hill from where one has a beautiful view of the region. (Temple of the 11th century in good condition until the American bombing in 1970)
At the foot of the hill, you will discover a village famous for their weaving "Hol", a piece of cloth with designs costing over $ 50 per meter.
If you have a flight from Phnom Penh, it is possible to reach directly to the airport which is located 10 Km before Phnom Penh (3 hours drive from Kep)
Your return flight must be after 13:00. If not, plan a night in Phnom Penh.
