Starting in Paris and ending in Montargis, the tour "Seine Valley Bike And Barge" is a guided bicycle tour that takes 8 days. You will travel through Fontainebleau, Montargis and Paris in France. With so much to see, do and absorb, the ideal way to explore this fascinating part of France is by bike and barge. From the lights of Paris to the beautiful medieval towns of Ferriers and Chateau-Landon, you'll experience a diverse range of sights during this week long cycling tour. The magnificent Fontainebleau Chateau, with its perfectly symmetrical Royal Gardens which the French kings had their royal architects design for them, is a fine example of the regions regal past. Cycling along the river in the company of your expert guide, through woodlands and small villages, ensures you'll gain a unique insight into this beautiful region. Cities, canals and cosy French towns - this trip will provide you with a truly magnificent French experience.

Day 2 : Morning cruise along the Seine, afternoon cycle to Melun (30km/19mi)
Day 3 : Cycle through the forests and visit the Chateau of Fointainbleau (40km/25mi)
Day 4 : Cycle in the Loing Valley en route to Nemours (38 or 49km/23 or 31mi)
Day 5 : Morning cruise, bike through woods to Neronville (35 or 45km/22 or 27mi)
Day 6 : Visit the Abbey of St. Severin before continuing on to Montargis (31 or 55km/19 or 34mi)
Day 7 : Explore Montargis and surrounds by bike (45km/28mi)
Day 8 : Trip concludes in Montargis

7 nights accommodation aboard a Comfort rated barge in a cabin with ensuite facilities on a twin share basis. The compact cabins are configured with twin lower beds.

Meals

7 breakfasts, 6 picnic lunches, 6 dinners (does not include drinks) Continental breakfasts are served and will usually consist of breads, cheese, ham, tea, coffee & juices. At breakfast you will prepare your packed lunch for the day which will be sandwiches, fruit & juice. Dinner will consist of three courses inclusive of either a pasta, vegetarian or meat dish.

CANCELLATION

No additional cancellation fees apply for this Seine Valley Bike and Barge tour. You can cancel the tour up to 72 days prior departure and avoid paying the full amount, but your deposit paid is non-refundable. No refund applies for cancellations within 71 days of departure.

Payment

For any tour departures within 30 June 2024, full payment is required. For tours that depart later than 30 June 2024, a deposit of 186 USD is required to confirm the tour, and the remaining balance will be charged 71 days before trip departure.

Travel Insurance

Seine Valley Bike and Barge tour requires that you have adequate and valid travel insurance covering medical and personal accidents, including repatriation costs and emergency evacuation. World Nomads offers travel insurance for independent travelers and intrepid families.
