Cycle Central America - Go For It!!

“Absolutely amazing way to spend our honeymoon! The tour group was a great bunch of laughs, from so many walks of life. The trip itself was well organised and gave us all a great opportunity to encounter a different culture. It was the first time I had ridden a bicycle with gears and I got amazing support from everyone throughout the trip! And the tour leadership was absolutely perfect.”
Cycle Nicaragua, Costa Rica & Panama - Love it!

“Awesome journey with a combination of physical challenge; great scenery; unique wildlife; amazing food; and beautiful people. I did not know much about the region prior to the trip and had my eyes opened on a regular basis - such a wonderful part of the world, and a great way to experience it! Get on your bikes people!”

“This was an outstanding 3-countries adventure. From landing in Managua to departing Panama City, the cycling, hotels, food, scenery and companionship was without parallel. The itinerary takes you from coast to coast, with the chance to paddle in both the Pacific and the Atlantic. The vistas are huge and varied, from primary rain forest to the hot and arid plains beyond the Continental Divide. The hotels are great and the food diverse (and adventurous as you make it).”

As the last country in Central America, Panama has a lot to live up to but they more than deliver with the culture and the incredible places to see. Holidaying in Panama is bound to leave you speechless.

Travel Highlights

  • Live on the edge of the Atlantic and the Pacific and marvel at the Panama Canal.
  • Get to know the local wildlife, of which there are over 300 mammals and 900 birds.
  • Pick from the multitude of beaches that the country has to offer.
  • Explore the postcard picturesque Archipiélago de Bocas del Toro.
  • Bike the Amadour Causeway, to see a cityscape or the canal, depending on where you look.
  • Explore the history at Panama Viejo, which was one of the biggest Spanish trading centers.

Travel Tips

  • If you want to drink, stick with beer; it’s cheaper.

  • Tap water is safe to drink, so don’t worry about spending the money on bottles.
  • Eat at the stands if you want to save money on food.
  • Break larger bills because taxi drivers and shop keepers may not accept them.
  • Stay on the path when exploring; don’t be tempted to go off the path.
  • While snorkelling, be a relaxed and you will be viiewed as less of a threat by the aquatic wildlife.
  • Beware of falling coconuts; they can cause injury.
