The trip North & Central American Overland starts in Panama City and ends in Anchorage. This is an adventure tour that takes 109 days. You will travel through Copán Ruinas, Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, Jasper and 57 other destinations visiting Guatemala, Costa Rica and 8 more countries. This is a guided group tour. The trip includes accommodation, transport, meals and others.

If you have 109 days to spare and want to explore North and Central America, then you will want to consider this trip. It travels along the spine of the two regions, through the great mountains and deserts and gives a great and diverse view of the region travelled through.

We travel from the glaciers, ice fields and wildlife of the Northern Rockies and Alaska, through the wonderful national parks of Banff, Jasper, Yellowstone and Grand Tetons, and then on into the deserts of Nebraska and Arizona. There is time to explore the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Zion and Bryce Canyon and then for a bit of "civilisation" there's Las Vegas.

In Mexico, it's a whole mixture of Mayan, Aztec, Toltec and Zapotec cultures and monuments, which culminate in the astounding beauty of Tikal in Guatemala. But no trip would be complete without beaches, sea and sand and we have plenty of time to chill on Honduras's Bay Islands and on the Belize Cayes.

Add in the wildlife of Costa Rica, the beauty of Nicaragua, the beaches and beauty of El Salvador and a canal in Panama and you have a pretty staggering journey.

“I enjoyed camping in national parks through America & Canada. With highlights being, monument valley, antelope canyon, Yellowstone NP. Also enjoyed the short stays on islands in Belize and Honduras. Each section of the trip covered major highlights of each country. The Central America sections (Panama to Mexico City) was well paced with sufficient time in each place.”

Local Payment The local payment is a group fund, paid separately from the trip price on the first day of the tour. It covers everything that the group does together on the ground. This is primarily hotel accommodation and campsite fees, meals whilst camping (but not while eating in restaurants), and included activities and puts money directly back to the local community. The local payment, or kitty system, is unique to overlanding tours and provides maximum flexibility and best value on the road - you can see exactly what is being paid for, you get everything at cost price, it keeps costs competitive by leveraging group expenses and saves on administrative costs. The fund is run by the tour guide, and any excess left over at the end is returned equally to the group. Local prices are estimated in USD when we print the brochure then reviewed monthly as local costs and exchange rates vary throughout the year. It's therefore important once you book your trip to check the website regularly and just before departure for any changes to the amount.
