The tour Gorillas & Masai Mara - Camping starts from Nairobi and ends in Kigali. This is a wildlife trip that takes 15 days. You will travel through Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya and visit Murchison Falls National Park, Nairobi, Jinja and 7 other destinations. This is a guided small group tour that includes accommodation, transport, meals and others.

The Masai Mara, a vast grassland teeming with animals, has an astonishing amount and mixture of game, including lions, cheetahs and at certain times of the year, the wildebeest migration. Lake Nakuru National Park has an incredible variety of birds as well as a healthy population of White and Black rhinos while Queen Elizabeth National Park is home to hippos, elephants, buffalo, leopards and the elusive tree-climbing lions as well as a huge variety of birds.  Murchison Falls National Park is one of the most impressive parks in Africa, renowned for its scenic beauty, spectacular falls and abundant wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, Ugandan kobs (antelope), leopards, and over 450 different species of birds. The highlight of the trip is undoubtedly an hour with Mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda. This close-up encounter is arguably the most sensational wildlife experience of them all.

“This was the most amazing adventure of a lifetime. Yes climbing to the summit was extremely tough both physically and mentally, not least because you have 50% less exygen to breathe in due to the altitude. Guide ratio best on mountain. Porters brilliant. Food, exactly what was required.”

“Camping and walking trip around Mt Blanc. Beautiful scenery, a great group of people and our guide - John and our camp manager Egle made everything extra special. Effort and speed of walking was very well managed. I don't think anyone felt that it required a major effort to keep up with the group but at the same time you knew that you had earned your meal at the end of the day! The ascents and descents bought a sense of achievement and of course always the reward of fantastic scenery. Each day provided different scenery and the always present mountains. It is truly an excellent trip - manageable but challenging walking with well paced days that had us covering appropriate distances, managing the ascents and descents but also time for coffee breaks, scenic lunch stops and afternoon tea breaks. The camping, tents, meals and facilities were all excellent and comfortable.”

    • Do you have any information on the overland vehicle? Of up to how many people does the group consist?

The overland vehicle seats 24 passengers but there is a maximum of 18 passengers on this itinerary. The seating is mostly forward-facing and the windows are large and easy to open. People are expected to move around to permit everyone a chance to have a window seat. The vehicle carries all camping equipment and has a large drinking water tank for you to fill up a smaller bottle. There is a reference library on the truck and also a 6-plug 240-volt inverter that can recharge camera/cellphone/laptop batteries when it is being driven. For game viewing in the Masai Mara, we use smaller 4WD vehicles.
