“Over the holiday from pickup at Athens airport, through all the accommodation and boats and transfers everything was smooth: transfers to and from the various island ports were hassle free - drivers were all on time, were waiting where they said they would be and were courteous and efficient; each hotel was expecting me and I was pleased with the quality of the accommodation”

“This was the absolute best trip ever. Ive traveled many times. I have to say this was one of the best experiences and adventures of all. Our skipper, Rita was simply amazing. The best! Mykonos - Tour Highlights and Travel Tips

Mykonos is one of the most popular islands in the Cyclades, a Greek archipelago known for its sparkling Aegean waters, miles of pristine beaches and rows of trademark blue-and-white houses. Each year, thousands of visitors choose to spend their holidays in Mykonos, where they can enjoy its spectacular nature and vibrant nightlife scene. If you are looking to experience Greek vacationing at its finest, a trip to Mykonos might just be the perfect option for you.

Travel Highlights

  • Mykonos Town, or Hora, is a picture-perfect maze of alleyways lined with cubist houses characteristic of the Cycladic architecture. This is where you will find Mykonos’ hippest bars, cafés and beaches.
  • Ano Mera is a small inland village in central Mykonos. It is home to a beautiful 16 th - century monastery called Panagia Tourliani.
  • The picturesque 16 th -century windmills are the ultimate symbol of Mykonos. They are tucked away in the western part of Mykonos Town, and can also provide a great spot to gaze at sunsets.
  • An idyllic waterfront district ideal for a romantic stroll, Little Venice is known for the rows of houses built on the very edge of the coast, whose colorful wooded balconies overhang the sea.

Travel Tips

  • Mykonos is known to be one of the most upmarket holiday destinations in Greece. This is why room prices and other everyday costs tend to inflate from mid-July to late August. If you want to keep your visit to Mykonos budget-friendly, opt to travel in June or September.
  • Unlike many other Greek islands, Mykonos’ life remains vibrant outside of peak summer months. Plan your holidays to Mykonos in the fall or winter, and you’ll be able to enjoy the lack of crowds, but also catch a couple of interesting cultural events, like the Mykonos Biennale.
  • Despite being notably small, Mykonos has a well-functioning network of buses that operate from two bus stations in Mykonos Town. These buses can quickly drop you off at beaches around the island, including Platys Gialos, Paraga and Paradise.
