The Winter Soiree 2016-17 tour starts in Munich and ends in London. The Winter Soiree 2016-17 is an Explorer tour tour that takes 14 days taking you from Munich to London and 7 other destinations in Europe. The Winter Soiree 2016-17 includes trip leader, accommodation, meals, transport and some activities. Please see the Includes section for details.

Immerse yourself in the true spirit of the chilly season as you embark on a whimsical jaunt through some of Europe’s most picturesque wintry wonderlands. Get ready for a memorable meander through medieval cities, historical landmarks and next-level food. Oh, the food! Don your finest elastic-waist pants and delve right into the sumptuous smorgasbord that awaits you in all seven countries. Think: hearty goulash, pierogi and Dutch cheese. The perfect antidote to the brisk temperatures outside.
Day 1 Munich, Germany

What better place to start than in the friendliest city there ever was? No really, 'Munich likes you' is the city motto. Thanks Munich! We kinda' like you, too. Now that you and the city have broken the ice, enjoy a stroll through its enigmatic streets, and then treat yo'self to a stein at Hofbräuhaus.

Day 2 Munich to Ljubljana, Slovenia

Give one last prost to Munich before arriving in Ljubljana (lyoob-lya-nah), the capital of Slovenia. Jump in the Delorean (or the 70-metre funicular) and shoot back to the Middle Ages with a visit to Ljubljana Castle and Old Town. Tonight, hit up military-barracks-turned-bar-and-gallery-strip, Metelkova Mesto for a tea or vino with a side of live music and underground art installations.

Included today:
-Walking tour of Ljubljana

Day 3 Ljubljana to Budapest, Hungary

Your house in Budapest awaits. A driving tour will get you down and Danube (that be the river) with twin cities, Buda and Pest. Check out Hero's Square, Parliament House, the National Palace, Fisherman's Bastion and swanky Andrássy Ave. After gorging on goulash, cabbage rolls and dumplings, roll into bed in the very grand Gellért Hotel.

Included today:
-Budapest driving tour

Day 4 Budapest

Today's a free day so put down your Rubik's Cube and take on a city with enough baroque, neoclassical and art nouveau architecture to keep you puzzled for hours. Take to the waters at the Gellért Baths and don't leave 'til you're pruny. There are more than 80 thermal springs in Budapest but this is its most famous. Wave pool, anyone?! Indulge in a spa treatment then visit the Buda Castle or House of Terror Museum. Tonight, hang with the hipsters and drink local fruit brandy at one of the original ruin bars.

Included today:
-Entry to the world-renowned Gellért Baths

Day 5 Budapest to Krakow, Poland

Legend has it a dragon had to be smited in order for Krakow to be built (with a sulphur stuffed lamb as bait). Bit tougher than the usual council approvals, no? Discover Poland's beating heart - and the largest medieval town square in Europe - on a walking tour. Buff up on history at Wawel Castle, feed the ducks amongst the slushy snow on the bank of the Wisla and after dinner, slay a few glasses of mead.

Included today:
-Krakow walking tour

Day 6 Krakow

Get all up in the streets of Krakow today and let the statement, "Whoever saves one life, saves the world entire" really sink in at Oskar Schindler's factory. Go 327-metres underground to see hundreds of shades of rock salt in the Wieliczka Salt Mine, visit a centuries-old synagogue in the Jewish district, and shop for amber in the UNESCO-listed Cloth Hall. Your day, your choice.

Optional activities:
-Wieliczka Salt Mine

Day 7 Krakow to Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic

This morning we pay our respects at Auschwitz Birkenau. Afterwards take some time to reflect before arriving into the fairytale that is Ceský Krumlov. The entire place is world heritage listed, but basically it's all about the castle. And not just because bears live in the moat. #TrueStory. After a stroll around town to get your bearings, embrace the wintry vibe while you tuck into a traditional Czech meal. It's pretty much the cosiest place in the world.

Included today:
-Auschwitz Birkenau visit
-Walking tour of Ceský Krumlov

Day 8 Cesky Krumlov to Prague

Keep your Frozen fantasies rolling as the medieval beauty reigns on in Prague. Fuel up on trdelník (pastry deliciousness) before a walking tour amongst spires and cobblestone streets. Suss out the castle deemed worthy by Guinness World Records as being the largest ancient castle in the world, cross medieval Charles Bridge and watch 'Death' toll the hour on an astronomical clock that's over 600 years old. After dinner, get cosy in a cafe with hot chocolate so thick you can stand a spoon in it, or slip into an absinthe bar to meet the green fairy.

Included today:
-Prague walking tour

Day 9 Prague

Channel your inner bohemian and seek out the John Lennon memorial wall to start your free day. Soak up some more Czech history at the National or Communist Museum or get a taste of the quirky local culture at a marionette puppet opera (you gotta see it to believe it). Snap a selfie at Prague's own Eiffel Tower, visit a miniatures museum, eat roast pork from one of the street vendors lining Old Town Square and drink beer. Really. Good. Beer.

Day 10 Prague to Berlin, Germany

Get acquainted with 800 year-old Dresden - a city virtually destroyed in WWII and then rebuilt - and ogle the Frauenkirche before making your beard all the more ironic in Berlin. Prep yourself for currywurst and more hipsters per capita than anywhere else. We'll drive you around to see (what's left of) the Berlin Wall, Checkpoint Charlie, the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag building before knuckling down with some pork at Hofbräuhaus. Later, get your DJ groupie on at the many uber cool clubs that the city is known for.

Included today:
-Dresden walking tour
-Berlin driving tour

Day 11 Berlin

Today, join the optional Third Reich walking tour for an insight into what the city was like under Nazi rule during WWII, go on a museum crawl (covering everything from the Ramones to DDR) or head to the zoo. More culture awaits on Museum Island, with creative types and memorable meals available in the Prenzlauer Berg and Kreuzberg neighbourhoods. Tonight, no curfew at clubs = all bets are off!

Optional activities:
-Third Reich walking tour
-Berlin Alternative Tour and Nightlife tour

Day 12 Berlin to Amsterdam, Netherlands

AmsterDAM it's going to be a good day! Start dreaming of cheese, clogs and cheeky cafe stops as we roll through tulip and windmill dotted fields to Amsterdam. Learn how cheddar and the chunky wooden shoes are made, and then get your bearings on a walking tour of the vibrant capital. See the Dam Square, Royal Palace and National Monument, and end the night with a cone of hot chips with mayo. Mmm.

Included today:
-Dutch cheese and clogs demonstration
-Amsterdam walking tour

Day 13 Amsterdam

On ya bike! Do as the locals do and join the 881,000 bicycles on a city bike tour to soak up the wintry canal vistas before retreating with hot chocolate, poffertjes and stroopwafels. Take on the city's 51 museums (must dos: Van Gogh Museum and the Anne Frank House). Still thirsty for more? Check out the Heineken Experience for an interactive visit and tasting at the brewery. Top it off with a dinner cruise on the canal.

Included today:
-Bicycle tour of Amsterdam
-Canal dinner cruise

Day 14 Amsterdam to London, UK

After all the Amster-damage has been done and dusted, it's time to hit the road and make tracks to ol' Blighty. Soak up all the happy group vibes you can possibly handle - this is your last coach ride with the gang. #sadface.
