Start and end in Marrakech, the High Atlas Trek trip is a guided trekking trip that takes 10 days. You will travel through Toubkal, Dar Tassa, Tazaghart Lepiney Refuge and 4 other destinations in Morocco. High Atlas Trek is a small group trip which includes accommodation, transport, meals and others.

Trek to Mt Toubkal in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco and explore Marrakesh. A superb introduction to the mountains and traditions of Morocco, this trip combines a trek in the High Atlas Mountains with visits to the medinas and palaces of Marrakesh. Explore the narrow alleyways of the souqs and admire exquisite architecture in one of the country's most impressive imperial cities. Outside the bustle of Marrakesh we walk through traditional Berber villages, following trails to alpine pastures set beneath the impressive backdrop of the peaks of the High Atlas mountain range. We learn to respect the simplicity of life in these mountain villages and are awed by spectacular scenery. An ascent of Jebal Toubkal (4167m), the highest mountain in Morocco, is something to aim for on our trek. Not to be under-estimated, reaching the summit is a great achievement and a fitting highlight to round out this adventure.

“This is a wonderfully interesting if somewhat physically difficult trek . The first few nights in Marrakech provided a good insight into Moroccan culture. The trek went through beautiful mountainous scenery. The walk culminates with a climb up a very steep pass, then an ascent of Mt Toubkal the next day. We bonded very closely to our wonderful guide Mohamed who never grew tired of of our questions regarding Morocco, Berber culture and Islam. This walk is highly recommended both for the scenery and cultural insights.”

“Our guide was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble for him. He took the time to test our trekking ability before the summit trek of Mt Toubkha and set a schedule to ensure we were able to get to the top. We highly recommend Ridounae to be used by World Expeditions for future trips, he had a very likable nature, great sense of humor and passed on all his knowledge about the culture of Morocco.”

“Ridouane was excellent. He was very attentive to our needs, anticipated any problems and always put our well-being and enjoyment first. He explained his culture clearly and answered our questions thoughtfully. His briefings each night made us feel well informed and involved. We particularly appreciated his humorous rapport with us and the cook. Ridouane was very professional, empathetic and good company. We really enjoyed our Moroccan adventure and Ridouane was a very big part of it.”
