Only 70 kilometers from Marrakech, Imlil is the last step before the ascent of Toubkal and the departure of many walks. Toubkal is the highest mountain peak in North Africa ascending at 4167 m / 13671 ft.
After crossing the gorge of Asni, a picturesque village known for its weekly souk on Saturday, the road continues along a green valley where the mountains and impressive natural bastions play with colors.
In the village there are the old kasbahs overlooking the valley. Further down towards Moulay Brahim the Kik plateau appears and also displays the gorgeous Lake Takerkoust, a special Sunday visit site for many Marrakchi families.
Departure from Marrakech at 9:00 . Stop at Asni to visit the souk on Saturday (depending on the day of the week, visit Moulay Brahim) and further more hike to Imlil. There will be an opportunity to ride a mule during 1.5 hours towards the direction of the Kasbah.
Traditional lunch is served in a typical restaurant on the edge of the wadi. On the way back to Asni road we will get some great views of the kik plateau where valleys follow one another – amazing! We will also make a small stop at Lake Takerkoust before returning to Marrakech at the end of the day
