Spectacular climbing expedition in Cordillera Real with ascents of Pequeno Alpamayo (5370m/17,618ft), Huayna Potosi (6088m/19,973ft) & Illimani (6438m/21,122ft). This is the complete climbing trip to Bolivia. The towering white peaks of the Cordillera Real provide a majestic backdrop above the vast Bolivian altiplano. This is a spectacular alpine region ideally suited to anyone who is looking to undertake a series of classic mountaineering ascents in one of the world's finest alpine locations. To ensure sound acclimatisation we spend time in La Paz and the ‘Island of the Sun’ on Lake Titicaca before heading to the snow capped Cordillera Real, where we undertake 2 days of instruction with our experienced guides to prepare for the ascents. An excellent level of fitness is necessary to help ensure your summit ambitions as we undertake a series of progressively more challenging peaks, culminating with Illimani, a moderately technical peak recognised as one of the classic climbs of South America. You will complete this expedition with enhanced mountaineering skills and the knowledge acquired through undertaking the various challenges that these interesting peaks offer.

“If Gorilla trekking is on your bucket list (as it was on mine), this is the trip for you. Added bonus, is the chimp trekking and game viewing by vehicle and by boat. The accommodations were fantastic and the food was really good and very plentiful. The Ugandan people were very friendly and the service we received surpassed expectations.”

“The trip is an excellent combination of trekking and cultural site seeing. It combines rural and urban experiences so you get to meet a wide range of people and living conditions. You will learn alot. Be aware that the trekking part is quite difficult as the mountain paths are very very steep and continuously so for your entire daily 3-5 hour accents and descents. But, you will also get to experience first hand rural Tajikistan - including an overnight stay with a family. The Uzbek guide in particular was quite experienced. The accommodation and food throughout was excellent.”

“I would like to thank World Expeditions for a 1st class experience. The guides, porters and other staff made this a trip to remember. We travelled with like minded people who all got on well. The food and accommodation were great. I would recommend this trek to anyone looking for some adventure and wanting to talk in the local culture at the same time. A wonderful trip that I would do again in a heart beat. Perhaps a little more training for the climb on day 2 would be in order for me!”

No additional cancellation fees apply for this Summits of Bolivia tour. You can cancel the tour up to 70 days prior departure and avoid paying the full amount, but your deposit paid is non-refundable. No refund applies for cancellations within 69 days of departure.

Payment

For any tour departures within 01 April 2021, full payment is required. For tours that depart later than 01 April 2021, a deposit of 343 USD is required to confirm the tour, and the remaining balance will be charged 69 days before trip departure.
