On this trip we will guide you along sections of the ancient Horse Tea Trail, a thoroughfare of commerce which traced some 2,250km from China’s Sichuan Province up into the high altitude capital of Tibet, Lhasa (3,700m). Starting in the spectacularly situated Shangri La, we’ll have some time to acclimatise with a warm up ride before setting out across the epic landscapes of soaring mountains, plunging valleys and ancient towns and villages. We cycling back-roads below the snow-capped peaks of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain to the incredible Tiger leaping Gorge where we stop to enjoy an optional hike or simply relax and take in the beautiful scenery. Back on the bikes we'll visit ancient temples and frescoes in Shaxi, soak in hot springs in Eryuan before cycling around Er Hai Lake to the ancient Bai minority capital, Dali.

“This was an excellent trip which fulfilled our expectations and gave us many WOW moments. We were blessed with an excellent guide in Fhurisco and a careful, safe and cheerful driver in Caesar. Fhuriscos interest in photography was a bonus for most members of the group. His knowledge and enthusiasm for the local flora, fauna, history and cooking skills.was a revelation. He clearly loves his country and did his best to help us understand the people and customs. His spotting skills when it came to lemurs and chameleons were amazing. We enjoyed every aspect of this trip: the canoeing leg, the the trekking and hiking days, the camping and lodges/hotels chosen. The vehicles used suited the purpose, were roadworthy and comfortable.”

“The trip was spectacular. It made all the hard work worthwhile. I cannot praise expedition Leader Kirat Rai, Serdar Babu, Sherpa Tshering, Cook Ngolo, Kitchen Assistant Raju and our 4 porters enough, I could not have been looked after any better. They were simply terrific.”

“I didn't quite know what to expect from the trek. I didn't want to research it too much so is get a true impact, and that I certainly did. I was blown away by the the spectacular beauty. Every day was fun, even when you're struggling to breath as you knew something amazing was all around. Early season felt like we had the Himalayas all to ourselves. Being outdoors makes people happy and such awe-inspiring beauty is truly humbling. The people of Nepal are so warm and welcoming that it makes you think about how different home is. The whole trip ha's opened my eyes and changed me for the better. Everest High Passes is a must if you want an incredible adventure. Now I'm back I'm London I just want to be there again.”
