Starting near the Tibetan border and draining off the Eastern Himalayas all the way to the sacred Ganges River in India, this river offers big volume whitewater. A journey down this “river of gold” impresses any rafting or kayaking enthusiast with its relaxing canyons, refreshing waterfalls, bat caves, interesting temples, beautiful white sandy beaches for setting up camp and of course the abundance of whitewater.

If you are looking for a long river expedition with a nice variety of scenery and access to local villages along the way, then the “river of gold” is a classic choice.

“The Sun Koshi early in October was lots of fun with the monsoon run-off. The river has lots of waves to offer and some beautiful scenery! The trip was well organized and the guides were super friendly and skilled on and off the river. It was an amazing, memorable journey, thank you again!”

“A fantastic white water rafting experience! 8 days of good rapids, laughs, sun and great people. The guides are outstanding and look aftrr you really well. The meals they make over 8 days going down the river are unbelievable. If you like adventure, thrills, white beaches, camp fires and laughs out in the middle of nowhere this the trip for you. Cant praise it highly enough. You obviously get stretches of calm water but the guide has a laugh with you and the rapids more than make up for these periods. One the $90 for a flight back at the end rather than get the bus, it's a long long journey.”
