The tour Nepal, The North & Rajputs starts from Kathmandu and ends in Mumbai. This is a cultural, religious and historic sites tour that takes 39 days taking you through Kathmandu, Khajuraho, Kathmandu, Mumbai and 15 other destinations in Nepal and India. This is a guided group tour that includes accommodation, transport, meals and others.

This trip is Nepal and northern India at its very best, as it not only allows the traveller to see the must do's, but also to step out into the hinterland and experience for a short time the real world and those that live there. In Nepal, we will stay in a couple of amazing small villages to discover local life and have time to hike along a high ridge in front of the high Annapurna and in the deserts of Rajasthan we take camels into the sands and overnight with our Rajasthani guides.

Of course, no visit to this area of India would be complete without a visit to the Taj Mahal, The Red Fort or the beautiful city of Udaipur, but this trip just has so much more. From the holy ghats of Varanasi and the waters of the Ganges to the ghost city of Mandu, we will travel and explore as many of the regions gems as possible; explore the rat temple of Bikinar; search for rhinos in Chitwan National Park, wander the back street of Jodhpur or Jaipur or perhaps just sit watching the orange sun set over the erotic carvings on the temples of Khajuraho.

“I enjoyed as usual the accessibility of getting to all these out of the way places, the wonderful sights along the route and the people you meet too.”

“Completely different sort of travel, I enjoyed having a bit of a base in the truck that was constant throughout the trip. Although the long drive days can be difficult sometimes, especially with bad road conditions. Overall I really enjoyed my trip.”

Local Payment The local payment is a group fund, paid separately from the trip price on the first day of the tour. It covers everything that the group does together on the ground. This is primarily hotel accommodation and campsite fees, meals whilst camping (but not while eating in restaurants), and included activities and puts money directly back to the local community. The local payment, or kitty system, is unique to overlanding tours and provides maximum flexibility and best value on the road - you can see exactly what is being paid for, you get everything at cost price, it keeps costs competitive by leveraging group expenses and saves on administrative costs. The fund is run by the tour guide, and any excess left over at the end is returned equally to the group. Local prices are estimated in USD when we print the brochure then reviewed monthly as local costs and exchange rates vary throughout the year. It's therefore important once you book your trip to check the website regularly and just before departure for any changes to the amount.
