HIGHLIGHTS
  • Scenic drive Kathmandu/Syabrubeshi via mountain terrain
  • Langtang village aptly called ‘the valley of glaciers’
  • Langtang Gompa and Kyanjin Gompa, old Buddhist shrines
  • Climbing Chorko-Ri 5050 meters
Despite being very close to Kathmandu, the Langtang valley is a tranquil and fantastic trek. The beautiful Langtang valley offers you a gentle walk through the sub-tropical jungle, then through a dense forest of oak, fir, rhododendron, and pine before opening out into alpine meadows and yak pastures.

If you are lucky to trek in spring you will see these pastures floored with the alpine wild flowers and the forests full with orchids and colorful rhododendrons, Nepal's national flower. Keep an eye open as you might witness the local faunas grazing and hunting along your trekking trail. Also at the same time you can get opportunity to take a close look at the lifestyle of the different ethnic groups such as Tamangs and the Tibetan descendents residing in the area.

One of the special things about Langtang is that you can choose to hike your own little peak, either Kyanjing Ri or Tserko Ri, at roughly 4800 and 4980 meters, respectively. From atop either of these two peaks and from Langtang valley also you will be able to cherish the following majestic peaks: Langtang Himal, Dorje Lakpa, Langshisa Ri, Langtang Lirung, Langtang Ri, and many other snow capped mountains.

A visit to one of the Langtang monasteries including one at Kyangjing evokes saintly feelings while a visit to the cheese factory located at the high altitude will definitely bring a “wow” out of your mouth, looking at the hard work of the locals in such a remote district.

We are looking forward to providing you with a fantastic trek and tour in Nepal, Kathmandu and the Himalayas.

Am amazing trek with an amazing team
Well organized trek with a nice guide and porter. The views were amazing. Somewhat cold as I did the trek in December but compensated by the reduced number of tourists. Overall an amazing experience.

good trip, but bit to fast in terms of gaining the altitude
good trip, but bit to fast in terms of gaining the altitude which can be very dangerous for people with less fit (1000m per day it is a lot)so if you are in very good shape, you can try it, but be prepared for some headache... Read more

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS Find answers to the most frequently asked questions about this tour.
  • How much money do I need to bring with me?

Your personal budget obviously depends on your spending habits and what is included in your trip cost. If accommodation is included, but meals are not, we would suggest that you bring around 30 USD per day per person for meals. Having a hot shower or charging your device sometimes costs extra. There are also sometimes small crafts/souvenirs to buy along the trekking route which you may want to bring extra money for. Also, consider whether you would be staying in Kathmandu or Pokhara before or after your trek.

  • Is quarantine in Nepal in effect for arriving visitors?

There are no quarantine requirements in Nepal for arriving visitors at the moment.

  • How much should my backpack weigh?

A properly packed backpack (not including your day pack) should ideally not weigh more than 13 kg. It is also important to note that if you are taking a flight to the start of your trek, many smaller aircraft have weight restrictions. For example, if you are flying from Kathmandu to Lukla, you are only allowed 10kg of checked luggage, and 5 kg of hand baggage. Thus, in case of a small flight, you should ideally pack a 10 kg backpack for checked luggage, and then add 5 kg in your hand baggage. You can then re-shuffel the weigt once you start your trek at the trailhead.

  • Do I need a porter?

The decision to hire a porter is up to you and usually based on your fitness level and/or budget. One porter can be shared between two people and can carry up to 25 kg. Many trekkers hire a porter to have a more comfortable trek.

  • Do I require a porter for carrying water?

On most popular treks you can expect plenty of places where you can refill your water bottle, meaning you don’t need to carry a huge water supply with you. Bring an extra bottle of water if you are concerned. If you already have a porter, you can ask him/her to carry water as long as it is within the weight limit. Another option is to carry water purification tablets or LifeStraw, both of which can be found in Kathmandu.
