The Everest High Passes in Comfort tour starts and ends in Kathmandu. The Everest High Passes in Comfort is a trekking tour that takes 22 days taking you through Kathmandu, Nepal and other destinations in Nepal.

The most comprehensive trek in the Everest region with 3 high passes, spectacular views from Gokyo Ri and Kala Pattar and a vist to Everest base camp.. This challenging trek will more than satisfy the ambitious trekker intent on crossing high passes without the commitment of any technical climbing. Heading towards Everest we cross the Kongma La to the Everest Base Camp and Kala Pattar. After taking in the classic climbing routes to the summit of Everest we complete a spectacular traverse over the Cho La to the alpine pastures and lakes of Gokyo. From Gokyo Ri we gain further outstanding views of Everest before heading over the Renjo La with views into Tibet, to the wild upper Bhote Kosi. This trek traverses the entire Everest region and provides all the highlights you would expect with a mixture of local villages and Sherpa culture. Our nights are spent in a combination of wilderness camps and our exclusive private eco campsites, as well as handpicked eco lodges. If you are highly motivated and want to experience the absolute best of what the Everest region has to offer, then this is the trek for you.

“Amazing experience! The crew made us comfortable at any time and our guide Rinzin look us after at best throughout the trek! We decided to skip Cho La pass because of bad weather but we still manage to recover and complete the Renjo La pass with a little additional walk up and down the valleys. Nonetheless, only a person withdrew and we all concluded the hike Diamox free! Having hygienic food cooked and safe shelters already arranged after a long day in the highs, it is an incredible value! Lastly I loved the High Passes itinerary (also the amended one) since it brings you out of the commercial route to the EBC... Kongma La stretches you to the limit early on and Gokyo is the icing on the cake! Could not recommend more!”

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS Find answers to the most frequently asked questions about this tour.
  • How much money do I need to bring with me?

Your personal budget obviously depends on your spending habits and what is included in your trip cost. If accommodation is included, but meals are not, we would suggest that you bring around 30 USD per day per person for meals. Having a hot shower or charging your device sometimes costs extra. There are also sometimes small crafts/souvenirs to buy along the trekking route which you may want to bring extra money for. Also, consider whether you would be staying in Kathmandu or Pokhara before or after your trek.

  • Is quarantine in Nepal in effect for arriving visitors?

In response to the current Covid situation, rules for arriving visitors may change frequently and sometimes without notice. Please check the government travel pages and advisories of your home country and the official website of the Nepal Tourism board here.

  • What happens if someone gets altitude sickness, does the rest of the group continue on?

It depends on the situation. Sometimes, altitude sickness can be treated and the trekker may wish to continue. If not, the rest of the group can continue on if they want and the sick person can descend.

  • How does it work with a porter?

Generally, the porter will pick up the baggage in the morning and drop it at the hotel in the evening. You will not always be walking with your porter or have access to your bag during the day, while trekking.

  • Is a visa on arrival available?

Typically, yes. However, in response to the current Covid situation, rules for arriving visitors may change frequently and sometimes without notice. It may be necessary to obtain a tourist visa in your own country before travel. For updated information on visas, please check the Nepal Tourism Board and the Government of Nepal Immigration websites.
