Join us on this 15-day private, guided tour and travel through the foothills of the Himalayas and scattered Sherpa villages all the way to Everest Base Camp. Your journey starts from Kathmandu from where, a day after a city sightseeing tour, you catch the flight to Lukla airport. From there, you continue your journey to Namche Bazaar via Phakding. Spend a day acclimatizing in Namche before continuing your journey up via Tengboche and Dingboche, where yet another day of acclimatization awaits you.

How much money do I need to bring with me?
Your personal budget obviously depends on your spending habits and what is included in your trip cost. If accommodation is included, but meals are not, we would suggest that you bring around 30 USD per day per person for meals. Having a hot shower or charging your device sometimes costs extra. There are also sometimes small crafts/souvenirs to buy along the trekking route which you may want to bring extra money for. Also, consider whether you would be staying in Kathmandu or Pokhara before or after your trek.

What is the weather going to be like when I travel to Everest Base Camp?
The weather in Nepal varies by season. For example, November to January is the dry season with sunny days, clear skies and usually no rain. However, on Everest Base Camp, the temperatures at this altitude will be cold, particularly at night. February to May and September to October is the most popular time to travel to EBC, with usually fairly dry and stable weather, although there may be the occasional shower. June to August is monsoon season in Nepal, but once you pass 3,000 meters altitude there is less and less rain. How long is the trek to Everest Base Camp?
The Everest Base Camp trek is a 129 km round trip that starts from and ends in Lukla, where most people fly in from Kathmandu. It takes most travelers between 11 and 14 days to complete this journey, with the average duration being 12 days, of which it takes around 8 days to trek from Lukla to the base camp. The return journey, which normally takes 4 days, is downhill. Another option is the 10-day trek to Everest Base Camp. You can either return on a helicopter from Gorakshep to Lukla. Or you can follow the same itinerary as the 12-day trek and skip the two acclimatization days. This is the riskier option.
We also recommend adding buffer periods of a day or two before and after your trek. You may need a couple of days in Kathmandu to shop for trekking gear, battle jet-lag or meet up with the tour guide to discuss the trek. The buffer period at the end of the trek is recommended because there is always a good chance of Lukla flights getting delayed due to bad weather.
