We get an opportunity to walk through the alpine forests of Sagarmatha National Park and through the vast Khumbu glacier. Thus, the Everest Base camp trek has often been a lifetime goal of passionate trekkers and is an ultimate trip that every adventure lover would like to embark upon.
The Everest base camp trek can be joined by every trekking enthusiast who is physically fit and possesses that trekking spirit. The Everest base camp trek is enduring and strenuous and consists of various steep ascends and descends along with smooth, gradual walking for an average of 6 to 8 hours per day. However, slowly and steadily ascending to high altitudes will help us to avoid altitude sickness.
It is recommended that trekkers prepare ahead of time by regularly jogging, walking, cycling, or swimming. This increases your stamina so you can focus entirely on all the greatness the Everest base camp trek offers. Please see the Itinerary for a day-by-day overview.
Note: Our Everest Base Camp Trek program does not include food during the trek or porter service but can be requested at an additional cost.

Other Practical InformationCustomers are suggested to keep 1-2 buffer days at the end of Everest Base Camp Trek because the Kathmandu-Lukla-Kathmandu flight involved in this trek is prone to delay and even cancellation to weather conditions. Weather sometimes can affect the flight even in the best seasons, and flight delays/cancellations may happen. In that condition, please be prepared mentally for long waits either at Kathmandu or Lukla airports, as this can happen either at the start or end of the trek or even both! However, we will do our best to avoid such delays and arrange the next flight for you. We will be responsible for providing you accommodation (in a guest house) and food in Kathmandu if cancellation happens before the trek. But in case of flight cancellation after finishing the trek, you will be responsible for all your accommodation and food expenses. No refund will be made for the services (such as hotel, transport, flight, etc.) included in the package that you would not use later. We can organize helicopter charter/rescue in such conditions (upon clients' request), but it depends on availability. The helicopter that can lift five people at one time charges approximately USD 3400. So, the best is to come with some buffer days at the end of the trip to accommodate such delays. If everything runs smoothly and you still have a few days of your buffer days left, you may even do some optional activities, which we can arrange for you upon request. The optional activities may include rafting, jungle safari, bungee jumping, city tours, sightseeing, etc. Suppose flight delay/cancellation happens at the start of the Everest base camp trek, and it seems to lengthen so long that it's likely to disturb your onward travel schedule. In that case, you can choose an alternative trek/trip, such as trekking in another area like Langtang or Annapurna. If you are not interested in the alternative trip and would rather wait at the airport for the original trip you booked, you can do so as many days as it takes to resume the flight. Please note no money will be refunded if you do not take an alternative trip and lose time waiting at the airport or you only do a short trek later.-
How much money do I need to bring with me?
Your personal budget obviously depends on your spending habits and what is included in your trip cost. If accommodation is included, but meals are not, we would suggest that you bring around 30 USD per day per person for meals. Having a hot shower or charging your device sometimes costs extra. There are also sometimes small crafts/souvenirs to buy along the trekking route which you may want to bring extra money for. Also, consider whether you would be staying in Kathmandu or Pokhara before or after your trek.

What is the weather going to be like when I travel to Everest Base Camp?
The weather in Nepal varies by season. For example, November to January is the dry season with sunny days, clear skies and usually no rain. However, on Everest Base Camp, the temperatures at this altitude will be cold, particularly at night. February to May and September to October is the most popular time to travel to EBC, with usually fairly dry and stable weather, although there may be the occasional shower. June to August is monsoon season in Nepal, but once you pass 3,000 meters altitude there is less and less rain. Check out our guide on the best time to visit Nepal for more on specific monthly climate and seasons.
- Is quarantine in Nepal in effect for arriving visitors?
- Are there bag weight restrictions for the small aircraft flight from Kathmandu to Lukla?
-
How much should my backpack weigh?
A properly packed backpack (not including your day pack) should ideally not weigh more than 13 kg. It is also important to note that if you are taking a flight to the start of your trek, many smaller aircraft have weight restrictions. For example, if you are flying from Kathmandu to Lukla, you are only allowed 10kg of checked luggage, and 5 kg of hand baggage. Thus, in case of a small flight, you should ideally pack a 10 kg backpack for checked luggage, and then add 5 kg in your hand baggage. You can then re-shuffel the weigt once you start your trek at the trailhead.
