The Everest Base Camp & Island Peak tour starts and ends in Kathmandu. The Everest Base Camp & Island Peak is a trekking tour that takes 22 days taking you through Kathmandu, Nepal and other destinations in Nepal.

Combine a climb on Island Peak (6189m/20,305ft) with a trek through the stunning Everest region for a superb introduction to Himalayan mountaineering.. Step into the world of high altitude mountaineering with a climb on Island Peak! Our carefully devised itinerary offers an exceptional way to acclimatise safely, absorbing the incredible scenery of the Everest region before climbing Island Peak. To aid our acclimatisation for the upcoming climb, our first goal is to trek to both Everest Base Camp and nearby Kala Pattar for spectacular views of Mount Everest. To do this, we ascend slowly through Sherpa villages beyond the treeline into a barren, but dramatic land of ice, rock and towering peaks. For us, reaching Everest Base Camp is just the midpoint of our adventure. We then descend back down the valley and turn our attention towards our main goal, the climb of Island Peak. Summit day on Island Peak is moderately challenging, steeper than Mera with an airy summit ridge and the views from the summit are truly unforgettable. This trip is much more than just a hike through the Everest region. Island Peak is a great climb, with a rewarding summit day, and an ideal way to launch into the lofty world of Himalayan mountaineering.

“Overall trip was well planned and executed. Our leader was very good and extremely helpful to ensure we were all well looked after. Scenery was fantastic, good group of trekkers, guides, porters and support staff. Would recommend to other potential trekkers who want to enjoy a different culture and great scenery.”

“My trip / Ultimate Annapurna Dhaulagiri trek was amazing. The advice & communication from World Expeditions, prior to departure was excellent. Their recommended accommodation in Kathmandu (Radisson), exceeded my expectations & the 30% discount on massage / spa services at the Day Spa, was also appreciated post trek. The trek logistics were handled with minimum of fuss and the accommodation was also as comfortable as could be reasonably expected on a remote trek. The trek staff, Soonaam - guide / leader, Canta - Sherpa guide, Santa - Cook & the 2 Porters all did a fantastic job in making our trek a comfortable & incredible experience. Particular thanks to our trek leader / guide, Soonaam, for patiently sharing his extensive knowledge & insights, (including teaching us some local card games). In summary, the trek organisation, support, the local staff, the magnificent scenery on the World Expeditions, Ultimate Annapurna Dhaulagiri trek, and the Nepalese people all contributed and my fellow trekkers, to a very incredible & memorable experience.”

“This was a challenging and rewarding trek. The grandeur and beauty of the landscape is almost overwhelming at times. We were lucky to sight not only numerous Gelada baboons but also a family of Walia Ibex and a lone Abyssinian wolf. The cultural element balanced on either side of the trek was also very interesting and eye opening.”
