CANCELLATION

Free cancellation up to 60 days prior departure, after which the deposit becomes non-refundable.

Other Practical InformationACCOMMODATION IN KATHMANDU: In our package cost, hotel in Kathmandu is excluded as there are many hotels available to book online where you can get best price. You can book any hotels in Kathmandu valley, we will pick you up from your hotel. FLIGHT TO and FROM LUKLA CANCELLATION: The Tenzing Hillary Airport/Lukla Airport in the Mount Everest region is the gateway to one of the most popular trekking routes in the Himalayas - The Everest Base Camp Trek. The weather conditions in the mountain region of Nepal can change rapidly and aviation schedules are not as reliable as you might expect. The flight between Kathmandu and Lukla is frequently delayed and maybe cancelled for the day or several days in succession. In the event your flight is cancelled we will either rebook your flight for the following day or attempt to get you on a chartered helicopter. Guests are responsible for the extra costs of helicopter flights which cost from USD400- USD600 per person. It is recommended to apportion one or two extra days in case your flight gets cancelled and you are in short of scheduled time. In other cases, road transportation can be an option which takes 4-5 extra days. Please Note: If we rebook your ticket it's likely you will be on a lower priority flight during the peak trekking seasons. This is out of our control as the earlier morning flights will have already been booked months in advance. If the flight is canceled then all extra expenses like airport transfers, accommodation, meals should be born by clients. NO REFUND FOR INCOMPLETE OR EARLY COMPLETE TRIP No refund will be made to clients who drop out from the journey due to natural disaster, political issues, regardless of whatever portions remain unused in the itinerary and who finished the trip earlier days than mentioned in the itinerary.
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS Find answers to the most frequently asked questions about this tour.
  • How much money do I need to bring with me?

Your personal budget obviously depends on your spending habits and what is included in your trip cost. If accommodation is included, but meals are not, we would suggest that you bring around 30 USD per day per person for meals. Having a hot shower or charging your device sometimes costs extra. There are also sometimes small crafts/souvenirs to buy along the trekking route which you may want to bring extra money for. Also, consider whether you would be staying in Kathmandu or Pokhara before or after your trek.

  • What is the weather going to be like when I travel to Everest Base Camp?

The weather in Nepal varies by season. For example, November to January is the dry season with sunny days, clear skies and usually no rain. However, on Everest Base Camp, the temperatures at this altitude will be cold, particularly at night. February to May and September to October is the most popular time to travel to EBC, with usually fairly dry and stable weather, although there may be the occasional shower. June to August is monsoon season in Nepal, but once you pass 3,000 meters altitude there is less and less rain. Check out our guide on the best time to visit Nepal for more on specific monthly climate and seasons.

  • Is quarantine in Nepal in effect for arriving visitors?

There are no quarantine requirements in Nepal for arriving visitors at the moment.

  • Are there bag weight restrictions for the small aircraft flight from Kathmandu to Lukla?

Yes. The baggage weight allowance on the flight from Kathmandu to Lukla is 10 kg for checked baggage plus 5kg for hand baggage for a total of 15 kg. Bags overweight will be charged approximately USD 1 per kg over the limit.

  • How much should my backpack weigh?

A properly packed backpack (not including your day pack) should ideally not weigh more than 13 kg. It is also important to note that if you are taking a flight to the start of your trek, many smaller aircraft have weight restrictions. For example, if you are flying from Kathmandu to Lukla, you are only allowed 10kg of checked luggage, and 5 kg of hand baggage. Thus, in case of a small flight, you should ideally pack a 10 kg backpack for checked luggage, and then add 5 kg in your hand baggage. You can then re-shuffel the weigt once you start your trek at the trailhead.
