Annapurna base camp trek is one of the most popular trekking destinations of Nepal. Annapurna base camp (ABC) is surrounded by inspiring Himalayan peaks. This Trekking starts from Pokhara with a short drive to Nayapul. We ascend well-trodden trails through terraced farmland and traditional villages. As we climb through ancient oak and rhododendron forest, across sparkling streams and past waterfalls, the world of snow and ice starts to unfold above us. This combination of pretty villages and terraced fields of millet and rice, coupled by the majestic splendor of Machhapuchhare (6,993m), Annapurna I and Hiunchuli (6,441m) make this an extremely rewarding trek.

Climbing up the Modi Khola valley towards the sanctuary we are teased with views of towering peaks and dazzlingly high rock walls with waterfalls tumbling down into the roar of the river below. As the gorge widens, we ascend to Machhapuchhare Base Camp (3,700m) on the lateral moraine of Annapurna South glacier. The steady climb up to ABC reveals the full splendor of this natural amphitheater. When we reach our destination, we are spoiled with 360 views of Himalayan peaks. We walk out along a different route to our approach and enjoy the views of Annapurna I from a different angle. A short diversion up to Poonhill (3,210m) before leaving the Annapurna Conservation Area offers us a chance to obtain great views of another Himalayan giant - Dhaulagiri (8,167m). The sunrise views from here are legendary.

Beautiful but strenuous
From Netherlands At

“The trek of ten days was a little bit too strenuous for us, maybe due to our age (55 and 60 y). It would have been better to plan a resting day after 4 or 5 days trekking. The last two days to the ABC were risky because we had to descent for 1000 meters both days and that is in fact too much because of the risk of altitude disease. And indeed, one of us got ill in ABC and we had to go down immediately. And that was a pity.
The trek itself was beautiful and we enjoyed it very much. Maybe a little bit too much rain, but that's 'force majeure'.”

“Before going to Nepal we had no idea how to organize our trekking tour and I talked to several friends that had already been there. One of my friends highly recommended Nepal Eco Adventure and so we decided to choose this company. We contacted Chhatra the owner of Nepal Eco Adventure about two weeks before we started the trip. He was very helpful and immediately answered our emails. There are so many trekking companies in Kathmandu and it’s really good if you have one you can trust and that cares for you. We were able to borrow down jackets, sleeping bags and hiking poles so we didn’t need to buy them. Our guide and our porters were absolutely wonderful and kind! Ramesh our guide was extremely experienced and absolutely trustworthy. He always made sure we were fine and we had a great time with him. Ramesh spoke really good English and both the porters and Ramesh had good hiking shoes and equipment- we were pretty shocked to see that there are some porters from other companies only wearing flip-flops. We highly recommend Nepal Eco Adventure to everyone who is planning to go trekking in Nepal.”

“Everyone at Nepal Eco Adventure was amazing! I would highly recommend using them to anyone planning a trip to Nepal. This was my first trip and first trekking experience so I had a lot of questions and wasn't really sure how it all worked. Chhatra was so friendly, professional and helpful explaining everything before booking and even when we were in Nepal. Our guide Tshering was so kind and funny. He kept us safe and even helped us take some amazing photos/ videos along the way. We had an excellent time and the scenery was breathtaking. We couldn't go right up to base camp because of the storm that had came through but both Chhatra and Tshering helped us plan a detour up to Marti Himal High camp which was a really beautiful trek as well. We are actually already planning a return trip next year!”

“Nepal Eco Adventure's guidance was excellent, and the price was nice, so we decided to take the Annapurna Base Camp trek, and we will never regret that. It was a fantastic experience, and Nepal Eco Adventure made it even better. They took care of everything from places to sleep and eat and showed us the most beautiful places on the trek. It was all wonderful!

On the Annapurna Base Camp Trek Chhatra Karki went with us himself and his friend Kumar joined us as porter. They organized the trip, and we had great fun together in 11 days, and it actually felt more like a friendship than just a company. In the evenings we had fun together, talked and had a beer. Chhatra speaks perfect English (With a fun Scottish accent though) and his whole team is great, and they are very helpful and service minded. Even though we are now back in Denmark he often writes to hear how we are doing. When I one day come back to Nepal I will definitely choose Nepal Eco Adventure again, and I will highly recommend other people to do the same. You'll not regret it!”
