Trek to the base camp of the 10th highest mountain of the world, Mt Annapurna (8091m), during this 12-day guided trip. Enjoy travelling through a diversified landscape consisting of both temperate and alpine forests, streams, highland pastures and rocky terrain punctuated by isolated mountain hamlets, temples and monasteries.

We drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara on the first day of the trip. Your trekking journey starts from Naya pul. You reach Ghorepani on the third day of the trip and Poon Hill the day after that. If the weather is good, you will get to watch sunrise from Poon Hill before continuing your journey to Annapurna Base Camp via Dovan and Deurali. When reaching Annapurna Base Camp, you'll get a 360 degree panoramic close-up view of the surrounding towering mountain peaks, a view that you will treasure the rest of your life. On the way down you can relax in a hot spring at Jhinu before returning to Pokhara from where you will be driven to Kathmandu.

The Annapurna Base Camp trek is one of the best ways to experience both the natural beauty and the unique cultural heritage of Nepal. During this trek, you will not only be travelling through mountainous landscapes, but will also get the opportunity to see villages populated by the ethnic Gurung and Magar people and get the chance to learn more about their everyday life.

Annapurna Base Camp was everything I hoped
This was my 3rd trek with this local travel expert and the fact that we are booking a 4th in 2024, pretty much sums up what I think about the company, service and people.

Great guidance during monsoon season
An arduous but worthwhile excursion into a special part of the world. Megendra and the porter, Dilli, worked very hard to make me comfortable.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS Find answers to the most frequently asked questions about this tour.
  • What is the required budget for a trip to Nepal?

How much you spend in Nepal is largely decided by things you want to do in the country. A 5-day trekking trip in Nepal can start from as little at USD 400 per person. A weekend-long safari in Chitwan National Park is available at less than USD 200.

On average, seven days in Nepal with accommodation and some or all meals included costs anywhere between USD 700 to USD 1500 per person. Good rooms at hotels in Nepal range from USD 25 to over USD 150 per person, per night, while around USD 1.5 a day can buy you three meals in decent restaurants.

  • Is a visa on arrival available?

Typically, yes. However, in response to the current Covid situation, rules for arriving visitors may change frequently and sometimes without notice. It may be necessary to obtain a tourist visa in your own country before travel. For updated information on visas, please check the Nepal Tourism Board and the Government of Nepal Immigration websites.

  • How does it work with a porter?

Generally, the porter will pick up the baggage in the morning and drop it at the hotel in the evening. You will not always be walking with your porter or have access to your bag during the day, while trekking.

  • Is Asia open for tourists?

Despite the initial fears of the Covid-19 pandemic, most Asian countries have managed to mitigate its effects. As such, many popular destinations throughout the continent are currently open for travelers with precautionary measures like mandatory vaccinations. A few countries, however, require newly arrived travelers to spend a couple of days in quarantine.

As of February 2022, countries like Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia are officially open for vaccinated tourists without the need for quarantine. Meanwhile, India and Indonesia are two of the countries that may require you to quarantine for up to a week on arrival. However, Japan, Vietnam, and Myanmar are yet to open their doors to visitors.

  • How much money do I need to bring with me?

Your personal budget obviously depends on your spending habits and what is included in your trip cost. If accommodation is included, but meals are not, we would suggest that you bring around 30 USD per day per person for meals. Having a hot shower or charging your device sometimes costs extra. There are also sometimes small crafts/souvenirs to buy along the trekking route which you may want to bring extra money for. Also, consider whether you would be staying in Kathmandu or Pokhara before or after your trek.
