“We had the same driver the whole trip making this smooth and easy as we got to know each other. He gave us lots of room to recharge between stops as we had a full schedule. Loved the local elements as well as the various temples, palaces and forts..”
Golden Triangle and Holy Ganges - a truly magical trip!

“This local travel specialist led my extended family of 18 (ages 6 through 77) on a truly unforgettable tour of the Golden Triangle and Varanasi over the Christmas break. We have traveled extensively throughout the world, using a number of luxury tour companies (often based in the US or UK), but more recently, I have wanted to send my travel dollars directly to the local tour operator based in our country of destination. By good fortune, I came across this agency and their terrific (although more scarce) online reviews. Himanshu replied to my initial query almost immediately (the man sleeps during the day in India to keep his work responses set to US time zones-he responded to almost every email of mine within an hour or two!), and every contact I had with him or other members of his company were excellent. Planning such a large multigenerational trip can be daunting, but Himanshu was incredibly responsive and was great at suggesting different locations and activities based on the individual interests in our group. From pick up to drop off, our group felt well cared for and received a truly personalized touch from the small, boutique travel company (we each even received Christmas gifts hand selected by Himanshu and his lovely wife - how’s that for unique?). Our guide, Narottam (“Narji”) took us to Agra, Jaipur, Varanasi, and Delhi, and was one of the best guides I have ever had. Along with Himanshu (who also accompanied us as an extra set of hands and photographer), he customized our trip to accommodate our individual traveling styles and more importantly, shared what he personally loved most about each location to make it truly special. From tasting the best of street food in old Delhi and Varanasi, to volunteering at Gurudwara Bangla Sahib (the largest Sikh temple in Delhi), to our magical sunrise and evening boat rides on the Ganges in Varanasi, to our super fancy bus that took our entire group around Agra, Jaipur, and Delhi, it was all amazing!”

Jaipur – Tour Highlights and Travel Tips

India is full of cities with beautiful architecture and history and Jaipur is definitely one of those hidden gems. You'll find many palaces, forts, and religious temples all with their own unique charm and design. While Jaipur isn't on the top travel lists for India destinations, it definitely has a lot to see for travelers looking for an adventure.

Tour Highlights

  • Built around 400 years ago, this beautiful palace stands tall and proud on a cliff overlooking the region and can be seen far and wide. The palace is packed full of jeweled beauty and a bit of secrecy with hidden passageways around every corner. You can reach the Amer Fort uniquely on the back of an elephant and be dropped at the central courtyard on your visit.
  • Right in the middle of the Old City you'll find the City Palace which is a huge complex of ornate gates, buildings, gardens, and courtyards. You can tour the area and you'll find plenty of incredible places for photo taking, especially the Hawa Mahal with its 953 windows. There's also a bazaar just nearby which is famous for local spices and souvenir shopping.
  • This old temple is also more commonly named the Monkey Temple as you will find both humans and monkeys alike. The temple is full of holy shrines and sacred water tanks where people will come to wash away their sins. The monkeys, however, share the space and are on the constant hunt for food from tourists. We suggest that you not bring food with you on this tour, if you don't want to be harassed by monkeys

Travel Tips

  • Jaipur is an absolutely beautiful city, but it is riled with pollution and homelessness. When tourists visit, they can often be overwhelmed with this at times and be driven away from the city. That's why it's important to know ahead of time that you will encounter this, but despite this it is still a very safe city to be in.
  • Haggling for prices will be a must when you're in Jaipur no matter where you go. From tour groups, to food, to shopping centers, taxi rides and even at your hotel. If you have a local to join you, it will be a much simpler experience otherwise be ready to haggle for every price you pay.
