“Beautiful hiking- particularly the first and last days -moderate difficulty-good idea to take provided car rides, to avoid long road walking - generally very pleasant and comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation. One fording of a fast flowing narrow stream on the last day created a bit of excitement and something to store in the memory bank. Other travellers were helpful in aiding us to decide how to negotiate this obstacle.”

“This is the third self-guided hiking trip we've taken with the tour operator. It was probably the most enjoyable. We went in mid-July. The temperatures were cool, the views were spectacular and the trails well-marked and easy to follow. While we saw a few hikers each day, the trails were otherwise quiet and ours to enjoy. Some of the hiking can be a little grueling, but overall I found it very manageable, and the designation as a "moderate" hike seems fair. I would definitely recommend it; and it made me want to spend more time in the west of Ireland.”

“We throughly enjoyed the walk, which was tougher than expected. Doing it clockwise means the first two days are the toughest, never easy if your legs are not in great shape from not enough exercise. Most days Are quite long but there is opportunity to take a car ride at times to remove some of the more boring bits. Don't be too proud , and use this service which is provided by the owners of the accommodation. The B&B accommodation was really wonderful. The notes provided by the local provider were not as accurate as those that appear on the website of this tour company, so follow its notes. On the first day, for example, the notes tell you to catch a cab for the first 5 aims . Do it! The bit you miss is not a highlight. This trip also doesn't include a day walk around Black Valley , which we noticed a lot of other groups did do. Consider staying an extra night and adding this on. No extra notes or maps are needed, as it is a day walk from Killarney.”
